Bringing Traffic To Your Website.

Hey guys.

Just wondering if any of you guys have any tips as to how to bring traffic to your website.

I mean fuck Weak somehow went from zero to hero within a month with Efukt.

SO any tips?

ALso as part of my hosting package I get 2000 Inclusive Page Impressions credits for Banner advertising campaigns for your site with AdLINK. But I dont know what this means or how to do it.

I also get this thing called simple submission that Improves your website’s positioning and search engine ranking with website submission and analysis tools. But again I dont know how to do it, or how it works.

I also get google sitemaps to have my site indexed by google. Still know Idea what that means.

Basically I know jack about websites and would like your guys advice.

Depends what website, the reason efukt was so succesful was because of the content, it's very viral and unique, as well as quite well branded.

Don't rely on search engine submissions for higher rankings, that doesn't really make sense. What site are you trying to promote? Would be easier to help you if I knew

Ive got it listed on several video production directorys, just wondering what my other options are. Obviously I would like to market it in the uk, and take advantage off some of these free things that come with my hosting package, but I dont understand them.

It's all about productivity. No point buying 10k worth of traffic to send to your site when it's going to do nothing. Why do you want lots of people to visit the site? You want to make money out of the site with ads? Or have people employ you?

I want my site to pop up in search engines and other websites when people in uk type in:

corporate videos
music videos
FIlm Production
Kit hire
Tv production

Thats what I want my main man, how do I get it! WIll any of those free things I mentioned help do that?

Um you could try something with google adwords so that it comes up on the side of search results for given phrases. Or optimise your site for those keywords, can take a while though.

One of the easier ways with google is to run the google ads on your site. It tells google more information about your site, and actually bumps you on search engines.

When we were running google ads on our www.extremebumming.com website, we saw a small bump in traffic as well as a much easier find in the search engine.

Just as an example, Kevin Fusco is one of the guys in our film crew. His name is all over our site. Whenever you searched that name on google about two years ago, this site always always came up first.

After about two weeks of having the ads on the site, we bumped right ahead of them.

We also used to come up first when the word "bumming" was typed in, but since we haven't run google ads in a long long time, we got bumped down.

If you made a sperate page with google ads on it, but that page wasnt actually linked to the site in anyway would that work?

dex, you couldnt of asked a more complicated array of questions.

first your site is blows, as far as search engines go, you wont come up for anything other then dex films. second all that free stuff wont help much.

if you got money, I could help you out, better site, better results.

Well I dont think the site blows, I think it's a good production company website, simple and clean etc. What would you make different about it?

Also why would I not be able to get the site to come up on google for anything other than dexfilms?

Basically, to 'pop up' in the search engines (rank well), you need to learn about SEO (Search engine optimization). This is basically the process of modifying your pages accordingly to give them the best chance to rank well in Google. Obviously Google wants to show the most relevant pages for search queries, and so you need to tailor your site to make it appear as though your site is the relevant site for the search query.

This is not neccesarily the most difficult thing to learn, but with your site I wouldn't say it is your best approach. Firstly, you have limited knowledge about SEO, and those search terms you are going after are going to be highly competitive (forget about 'music video' and 'film production' - not sure about others). Of course if you learnt enough about SEO you could give your site a good chance at ranking okay for some of them, but for the effort it's going to take you to learn it all, I wouldn't say it's the best choice.

From my limited knowledge about SEO for those sort of terms, I'm guessing your best option would be to go after something like 'TV Film Production' if you really want to go down the SEO route. But then still that will take some time and effort (maybe even money) to rank well for that term. At the moment you have a low content site, and so it's not going to be the number 1 candidate for the competitive search terms you are going to go after in Google's eyes.

But anyways, in terms of getting traffic... what are you going to do with it? What are the people going to do when they visit your site? I was going to say the best way to get traffic would be to advertise, but the money would more than likely be wasted.

IMHO, it's a decent site, but I don't think it's soemthing you should look to push in the online world. It's going to be great to have it there so you can put it on your contact card, but at the moment you aren't going to get anywhere by trying to market it online.



And btw, those free tools or whatever you got with your hosting are pretty worthless, so I wouldn't bother with them.

I worded that bad, its looks great and does everything its supposed to. but it does blow for getting in search engine lists. if it was my site id redo it.
