stick with something Sony.. they come out best 9/10

23 April 2008, 00:25 UTC#32
Just get something with 3ccd and you'll be right for awhile, There's not point investing in a top notch high end camera unless you're one hundred percent dedicated.
23 April 2008, 00:32 UTC#33
depends what u wanna do end of the day.. just film homegrown stuff? get a decent but cheap Sony.
want something more pro for films then invest in a high end cam but make sure your 100% into filming and gonna use it. cos the arnt cheap..
I got a sony vx2100.. and plan to film a feature film with it..hence the investment.. so make sure.
23 April 2008, 00:44 UTC#34
thanks for the info, atm I think were just gonna be doing homegrown stuff but perhaps in future short films etc. but I aint spenidng no more than $1000
23 April 2008, 07:11 UTC#35
We use the HDR HC7 and the HDR HC3 as our main cams.
HDR range is amazing for the price.

so fucking true!!!!!!! we use Sony hdr hc3 and hc1 for our main cams. And our third is a Sony hdd cam, and fourth is a Sony hc26. We are all about Sony here.
23 April 2008, 08:13 UTC#37
Yeah I've got an HC39 too, but it's sort of collecting dust.

You should have got a pd-150 or 170 if your gonna film a feature.
COs then you gotz da XLR input for sound innit!
23 April 2008, 10:16 UTC#42

You could probably sell your cam, and only have to spend about 100 quid more to get one. It would be worth it for sound. But again it's not that important if you have a mini jack to XLR adaptor or something along those lines.
23 April 2008, 14:29 UTC#44
yeah I was thinking of spending cash on other things, such as adapters etc for sound and lighting and all that and just stick with the cam, cos I do really like the cam

23 April 2008, 14:30 UTC#45
Yeh it's a great camera/
I shot the short film 'The Watcher' with it.
And it has progressive sacn, which always helps for that pro look.
