Was giving this a serious think today, and decided on Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones. Just think it's a great song even decades after it was made n I want people to listen to something cool as my glass coffin is lowered into the ground (I'm naked inside it btw).

I'm dead what do I care, but I think I would like people to hear Caring is Creepy by The Shins

QUOTE
I think I'll go home and mull this over
Before I cram it down my throat
At long last it's crashed, it's colossal mass
Has broken up into bits in my moat.

Lift the mattress off the floor
Walk the cramps off
Go meander in the cold
Hail to your dark skin
Hiding the fact you're dead again
Undeneath the power lines seeking shade
Far above our heads are the icy heights that contain all reason

It's a luscious mix of words and tricks
That let us bet when you know we should fold
On rocks I dreamt of where we'd stepped
And the whole mess of roads we're now on.

Hold your glass up, hold it in
Never betray the way you've always known it is.
One day I'll be wondering how
I got so old just wondering how
I never got cold wearing nothing in the snow.

This is way beyond my remote concern
Of being condescending

All these squawking birds won't quit.
Building nothing, laying bricks.

EDIT:: well probably anything by this band actually, they do good funeral songs.

The unforgiven 2 by metallica.

May favourite band and the lyrics probably suit the occasion, I decided on this song about four years ago and I still back it! Such an epic, epic song.

Cuppycake Song - Strawberry Shortcake

I will always have the high score on this, and having it playing when I'm buried will reinforce that.

Will Smith - Men In Black
Will Smith - Get Jiggy with It
Will Smith - Fresh Prince Of Bel Air
Silverstein - Already Dead
Silverstein - Here Today Gone Tomorrow
Silverstein - Bodies & Words
Say Anything - Died A Jew
Say Anything - An Insult To The Dead
Paramore - Hallelujah
Weezer - This Is Such A Pity
Enter Shikari - Today Wont Go Down In History
Shaggy - Why Me Lord?
Shaggy - Not Fair

The tune from pacman when you die, either that or mario or sonic.

I think all those would suit nicely at a funeral.

I don't want a funeral/service, whatever. I just want to be cremated and then unknowingly fed to someone or something like that.

I honestly couldn't care less what song is being played when I'm dead. It's not like I will get any last minute feelings of joy before I'm lowered into the soil :P

But IF I could stick around and listen to a song I think I could go happily out with any of these songs:

The Ataris - Looking Back on Today. This song always makes me slightly happier when I listen to it.
Johnny Cash - Hurt. Not really, but if I had lead a shitty life which I hope I won't this would be perfect.
CKY - Don't Hold Your Breath. It's either this or Close Yet Far but this one's more death related and slightly more beautiful.
Van Halen - Right Now. Haha how awesome wouldn't this be. My casket would slowly be carried in surrounded by a thick theatrical fog and purple strobe lighting by Luke Skywalker, Knight-Rider, Axl Rose, Eddie Murphy, the 1980s Edmonton Oilers and a Ninja Turtle. Would be perfect for an 80s kid like me :)

I can't really be bothered to think more of my own funeral right now ask me again in 65 years :P
