The footage is sick indeed but to me the editing just seemed monotonous and just average. Sorry, I don't want to crush your dreams or anything but that just didn't stand out for me. Maybe it's just my taste that doesn't match yours..
I'll let the others decide, but I'd advise you to go deeper on the editing and not just scratch the surface. I'm a total amateur too so what do I know but I'm just saying this because you're gonna put this in your portfolio and that means your letting all kinds of people criticize it

the forum movies already have sick editing. this was meh in that category.
I think it takes a lot away from you when you edit footage that isnt yours and footage that isnt raw.

what good is it in a portfolio? it shows u can cut clips and add some shakes? seriously thats stupid. 12 year olds on youtube do better with thier anime "music videos". like seriously sit back and think what did I do...I took a finished movies clips...and put a song to it...added generic effects...whats that like a whole 20 mins? prolly took longer for you to post it around.

What could I use for a portfolio then, would I have to make a legit video, or how can I show I can edit good

Blake you didnt shoot any of that footage all you did was cut pre-filmed and pre-edited footage. I thought BFD taught you better than that. Go out film some shit and make a good portfolio video. That just prooves you can break copyright laws.

watch tv, cutting clips and adding default effects is the easiest part. what counts is titles, touch up, audio work. I dont think you even know keyframing(or what it is), most importantly flexibility, people ask for all sorts of weird shit.
honestly editing is super hard to get steady work on(even with a degree). ive only recently got a ongoing gig and ive been at it 4 years now. mostly youll do faggot boring shit you dont want to, kids stuff, weddings, website vids n shit. you'll get people asking for wierd shit and you dont know what their even talking about because the only way they can explain it is drawing stick figure shit. then youll think u know and do it and their like ohh I meant, and your like GOD WTF!
