History Of Homegrown...

As I was trying to say in an edit...asshat...Rob's speech was of a different nature than mine. His was informative, mine is persuasive.

So yes, I need history so I can justify mine, along with the majority of you all's actions to a classroom full of people that range in age from 20-50 in my debate class.

Anybody that has HELPFUL info plz post it asap. Like I said the speech has to be given tomorrow.

Why don't you just ask Aaron though, I remember him being on ckf long before I became a member. But yeah, as Ray said, Wilbur and Webby have probably been around for the longest of the active posters on here

K so what's there to say. I found ckf in late 2003 through a website called cky.bunchajerks.com and that's where I first encountered the term homegrown. The website was mainly a website for all kinds of news regarding CKY, Jackass, Steve-O and such and had its own (I think) forums at www.ckf. I think a user called wd was the admin for both sites, and he later on went into the porn industry lol. The first groups I remember from there, which had been members since way before I found the place, were Boredom-Induced, Local-Felons, Custom Scar, Retardz, No Mercy, PI:EO, me6, Triple 0 and Pickled Eggs. Other groups I can remember from late 03/early 04 were Hoons, Skinoff, SPDST, Fully-Charged Videos, Sadly Human, Third Class Videos (WJDC), Senate DC, WKH, FA The Video and Weak Sister. Anyways, out of the groups joining later on in 2004 I remember groups like All Balls, Freak Inc, DR, Muppets and SST Pro to name a few. We released our first video on ckf at some point during spring 2004. I'm probably forgetting quite a few groups so feel free to fill me in..

HGF started off as Wilbur's and Gary's project in May 05 I think. I didn't join the forums immediately because I didn't think it was gonna last, but as the homegrown side on CKF started to turn into shit I decided to join this place. Then there's the whole Hunt thing too but I can't remember too much of it, when they were arranged and all that, except for that one time when Rip/Off filmed a few tasks for one of the Hunts, can't remember which though.. The Hunt was pretty much responsible for bringing a new wave of homegrown groups to join the forums. WKH, the creator of the Hunt, went on and created another homegrown forum at h g v I d e o s.com where all the shit groups went that couldn't stand the hgf heat. That place is now dead as far as I know, not sure though. And that's pretty much all I know in a nutshell.. Rip/Off The Movie premiered in spring 2006, and we've been laying low ever since except for a few skit releases. We're hoping the spring to bring us some motivation to start filming again though, and I'm sure you will see something later on.

I invented homegrown.. then gave the idea to a few others (Bam, Jackass guys etc) and they took it to the next level. End off.





Really though for me it started with CKY, saw some skating clips mixed in with stunts, liked it, bought the DVD's, was into skating at the time. Then Got a Camcorder and filmed skating etc.
Found a forum that shall not be named. Learnt some more about Jackass and CKY.
Found this forum and just got bigger and bigger.

homegrown started for me when I used to do wrestling with friends in school and in back gardens ,local playing greens and feilds. I later went to 'high school' where me and my mate james was put in different classes. none of his high school friends liked me because I wasnt a chav like them. james carryed on doing wrestling but took it to the next level. the thing was james was the only one who took the moves and was the one ending up getting hurt while they just used to do shit to him. which built his pain totrance up and he learnt to take bigger moves without much pain. durring this time I was getting my rush bmxing every chance I got. I later had afew friends who used to bmx with me, we would still do the od stunt and tricks when not on our bikes. in 2000 me and james got moved into the same classes again and re-newed our friendship. we then relieased we never stopped doing stunts and built somewhere we could do BYW where we could pratice. that later went onto me wanting to capture our stunts on camera, I only had £100 to my name. in college and no job and went for a digi cam instead of knowing what I was doing I could of got a hi8 or something. anyway we progressed from there and so on. I'll prob do the history of retardz in more detail in the future.

Before FREAK.INC or "The Bad Time" and After FREAK.INC or "End of HG".

we're all part of a huge viral campaing from mtv to promote jackass. none of us have ever existed.

You know I was mainly looking for the history of HG in general. If you think about it though everybody that has posted is part of that history in some way, shape, or form. School got snowed out today so I'm giving my speech next Tuesday. I've read everything everybody has posted and I really appreciate it. Its not precisely what I was looking for, but its definitely helping by giving me an inside on everybody's stories and motives for why they started doing HG.

Not to mention it makes for great discussion
