I hope this isn't stupid, but I have a friend with a horrible Crack cocaine problem and I want to help him.
how do you guys deal with your friends drug problems?
19 December 2007, 05:01 UTC#2
its not up to you. its up to them to realize they have hit rock bottom (no pun intended) and they need help. as for you helping him out, its not going to work. he needs professional help as in rehab where he needs to get out of his surroundings and clean up his life on his terms. when he comes back its important that he doesnt contact any of his friends that did crack, hung out with him while he did crack, or sold him the crack. its even better if you can keep him away from any sorts of drugs at all.
I went through the same shit, and its incredibly tough. but he has to want to get better. and that want has to be greater than his addiction.

that realy sounds like it is from a book or something, but it is true.
19 December 2007, 05:05 UTC#4
no man, ive been in your shoes. my best friend blew 10 grand in 3 months on the shit. its absolutely true, and the only thing thats kept my friend clean is he went to rehab, and I spent every waking moment I could with him until he left for the army.
19 December 2007, 05:09 UTC#5
ya man, I know what you are sayin, but I am not sure if he wants the help, and he has been making bad choises his whole life, but this is by far the worst.

well, he wont get better unless that he sees that he has a problem, and it needs to be fixed immediately.
19 December 2007, 05:13 UTC#7
he has been doing it for about 6 weeks now, I am not sure if it is too late or not.
19 December 2007, 05:14 UTC#8
I wouldnt be freinds with a crack head. I wouldnt of posted about it either.
I wouldnt try dealing with your freinds problems. its all them and you cant help em. tell him hes fucking up and your not going to be a part of that shit, tell him having a crackhead for a freind would only hold u back. if nothing happens quick stop hanging out with him.
19 December 2007, 05:17 UTC#9
well, hes addicted for sure, but hes nowhere near hitting rock bottom doing it for only 6 weeks.
but duran has a good point. dont put too much effort into it. because that will just waste time, money, and energy on your part by associating with him.
19 December 2007, 05:21 UTC#10
alright, should I just try and stay away from him or give him just a little help?
19 December 2007, 05:27 UTC#11
tell him quit fucking up if he doesnt say I cant be freinds with a crackhead.
.closed'
Edit:maybe show him a copy of bumfights 1
19 December 2007, 05:31 UTC#12
Duran speaks the truth.
He has to be willing to help himself before he receives help from others. If he refuses these initial attempts to help him, he's obviously not ready--and judging from experience with drug users, he may never be ready if that is the case. He either has to clean up his act of GTFO of your life. Simple.
19 December 2007, 05:40 UTC#13
I see.
alright, thank you guys for the advice.
I will let him help himself first.
19 December 2007, 05:43 UTC#14
It's not necessarily about that, you can try to help (like tell him it's a problem, say you're worried, suggest a rehab facility etc..) but if he doesn't care about changing then don't exert anymore effort on him and stay away. You can only do so much for a person.
19 December 2007, 05:48 UTC#15
alright, I will talk to him tommorow.

lol.

I was kinda dating this girl once, found out she was using cocaine. I told her if she valued anything we had she better quit. she didn't, so I booted her ass from my life. later she came running, telling me it was the worst mistake of her life and that she quit. I didn't believe her, and I'm 100% sure she's probably still using. we don't really converse anymore.
from experience of trying to prove a point with a coke head, don't even waste your breath man.
19 December 2007, 11:28 UTC#18
Film him injecting into the vein in his cock.
19 December 2007, 14:14 UTC#19
What's wrong with it? It's just a nice relaxing smoke of crack.

19 December 2007, 14:25 UTC#20
19 December 2007, 19:20 UTC#21
I'd stop talking to him if I were you, everyone I know that turns to drugs ends up trying to steal shit.
19 December 2007, 19:26 UTC#22
I wouldn't let him come over, hang out with you, unless he was clean.
You can tell when people are fucked, thats what I did with people I used to hang with. Don't even let them ride in your car.
19 December 2007, 19:27 UTC#23
Fuck him, they never listen. Like Adem said boot him to the curb. When your shit starts going missing you'll regret not doing it sooner. Sounds harsh but they aint themselves on that shit, the coke thinks for them.
19 December 2007, 19:29 UTC#24
Wait he is addicted to crack?
I totally forgot those guys will do anything for some bucks, I suggest filming some hilarious pranks and stunts.

Keep him close, but distant so you wont feel bad when exploiting him for the film.
