Program To Make Dvd Menus

ok so the retardz dvd is 98% done (just 1 intro shot to refilm and write up the music credits)

for the prems iv always burnt off the dvds with DVD Architect 4.0

but heres the problem, between each section it quickly fades to black (as pland)...but for some reason the dvd has a 2-3sec loading time to load/buffer the next part. so it stays on a black screen too long.

I do not want this at all. it slows it down way way too much for a dvd called adrenaline rush.

can someone recomdend a program that wont do this or...how to prevent it from happening?

hmm, I have no real experience in producing a dvd by myself, so I'm just throwing this one out in the open. Don't ridicule me please lol.

But is the DVD made up of a series of separate avi files or is it just one large file? Maybe if it was just one file you could avoid this? As I said, I'm just throwing this out there and it's probably easier said than done. I dunno, that's the only input I have.

yes its a series of separate files. and I know this problem could be avoided if its one big AVI file. but then how would screen sellect work? if there was a way of pin pointing where each section starts and where they end then I would do this. but I need someone with the know how to help me out.

I use adobe encore and not got problems.

I had the very same problem with some Nero softwear once.

Yeah, thats how I thought DVD's were done anyway, with chapter markers, never even thought you would make loads of small files.

I use ulead DVD workshop 2, and yes it helps if you make chapters from the one big file.

well I didnt edit the dvd as one big file so thats why I edited each section on there own.

Can't you drop all the AVI files onto a timeline and export?

yeah but the program I use to make the menus (as far as I know) dont count scenes unless they are there own file. I could be wrong but yeah I mentiond above why I didnt want to do that.

I use DVD-Lab and its awesome, never had any problems or anything and its simple to use yet quite advanced.

Yeah its been fine, one AVI for the main movie, and one per bonus feature, multiple menus etc... only goes black for like a second like its meant to when you choose a menu item that links to a movie.

ah still got to burn as one big avi.....is it easy to set scene sellect?

Yeah its pretty simple man.

meh, this is probably sorted now

but yeh I always edit each scene seperately, render them as seperate .avi files, then edit them all together into one big .avi (which is cool if you're doing fancy shit inbetween scenes, or have commericals/trailers and shit in between scenes).
I take that big assed .avi into the dvd editing thingy and create chapters and then blah blah blah the rest is history.

1. Combine all clips into one giant AVI file and save.
2. Get Adobe Encore DVD
3. Set Chapter Points
4. Burn Disc
5. Get rich
