New Video - This Town

[Please Read First]
ok heres the deal. my friend Mat is a prefromance poet and is getting pretty big on the london/uk spoken word scene. we recorded a video 'suicide note' afew months ago. he submitted it to America's Famecast competition. out of 250 other spoken word artists hes been voted into the top 10. the only UK artist left.

he needed a new poem & video for the next round so we did one for 'this town' in his lunch break the day before it needed submitting. so I edited it up that night and got it done. its rushed but the main point was to hear what he has to say so it does the job.

if he gets into the top 5 he will get a flight to america to preform this town on the live tv finals. as a bonus if he wins he gets £5000 prize money but he dont think he'll come first he just wants to go to the states.

anyway if you have no idea who Mat is. he needed to produce a 2min 'about me' video. its worth watching.

p.s. I know the video starts out looking dodgey, but keep with it they get more into it as it goes on.

Already watched both of these on your space and I like this guys stuff. He's pretty awesome, I had to go see some performance poets last year for a uni class and they all sucked copious amounts of cock compared to this guy.

thought 'this town' was very good, wouldn't of guessed they were chavs though...

well as its based on the negitivity of people from any town we couldnt dress them as chavs because the yanks wouldnt understand so faceless hoodies was the best opition all round.

I didn't get my e-mail; so tried again and still didn't get it. Blargh was right--the internet hates me.

I'll try again, third time lucky I guess. I'd like to see this guy win, I was really impressed with his suicide note one in particular--he raises some kick-ass points.



Even the vids that do have stunts probably would get a lot of comments these days man (a point I made in Yates' thread). Let alone vids that try to bring something new/unique to the HG table.

I liked this peice alot more than the other one he wrote, the flow was much better and the rhyming was alot more on par with the subject matter and message he was trying to get across. The music accompanied the vocals quite well. Also, the video I think was better, there was a little more going on, more energy all around.
