It's been just over a year since we announced that we are going to be releasing our DVD and I just figured I would keep people updated on the progress.

We're currently in the process of going through all the 50 tapes we've collected over the past 2 years and capturing the best footage that we intend to use. We're up to like Tape 7.

When we have all this collected we're going to divide it up into various folders which correspond to the section we have in mind for the clip to feature in. I.e. 'Mixup 1' etc..

Depending on how much footage we have, we will then start to edit that section accordingly, which will also give us a better idea on what we need to film and how much we need to film for each different section.

I'll use this thread from now on for any updates we may have regarding the progress of 'In Harm's Way'.

I might not know what this VHS you're talking about is, but what I do know is that one day we will have them too and then I will be glad I demanded the best and don't have to listen to it on my vinyl player!

I'll cap footage when we've got it all off of tapes.

We've been working on it since I last posted and we've got 34.9GB in 207 clips of varying sizes with like 15 tapes left to capture haha.

Haha, no thanks.

I'm trying to get everything we have and put them into the folders now, when thats done we'll film whatever we need to to get this finished and out ASAP.

Only when the filming bar in my sig is filled will I release a trailer. :)

Can I just color it in the rest of the way and then you release a trailer?
I say that's fair

Wouldn't wanna make a trailer without having filmed some awesome stuff to put in it now would we? ;)

When do you reckon you'll finish the DVD by?

Depends at the rate we film, which is really down to the group. If we can get shit done then soon, maybe before the end of the year. But thats looking unlikely.

I reckon end of next Summer is quite reasonable? Loads of free time then to finish it up, plus with footage from Newquay and that's.

Yeah well as I say it depends on the footage. We'll know when we have enough or are confident enough to start editing the whole thing.

I played ping-pong yesterday.

Oh, I thought this was the "Tell HGF things they don't care about" thread . . .

=P

Seriously though, nice to see you guys getting some shit done, looking forward to seeing a trailer of some sort in the future.

I would advise editing now, you always think you dont have enough when really it works out you have twice as much as you need.

I didnt think we had a dvd. when really we filmed enough for 3 solid retardz films. iv had to go back time and time again to cut awesome footage out.

31 October 2007, 23:59 UTC#29
put a deleted scenes section.

plus y cut alot of it out, just leave alot in there and cut a bit out, it might be a bit long but who cares they get there moneys worth. or relese a mixup or 2 with extra footage.

and y only 45min tom, should make it longer then that. at least an 1hour-1:15

Well of all the footage we have captured I'm going to edit sections and stuff, and if there are more sections than needed then maybe a second DVD could be in the works. ;)

We are editing now, it's just some mixups cant be finished without all the footage we need otherwise it wont be mixed, just in chronological order which wont work well in editing. But everything we can edit now we definately will and are. :)

I think 45 minutes is perfectly long enough for a DVD, given the genre I think people will start to tire of it if it's anything longer than that. Not to say it wont maintain interest, but people just don't wanna sit solidly through something that long without a running storyline to maintain interest like a movie would have.
