Who has one/regularly uses these awesome, awesome machines?
My housemate has the newest model as he's studying ICT and Business and so has to be up to date. It is truly beautiful, the screen is bigger than my TV and its basically a home entertainment system. He has a remote control so he can sit on his bed and operate it, we all crash out in his room and watch films. I always kept away from macs due to compatability issues with games/programs, but I'm seriously considering getting one as my next computer.

I'll never buy a Mac for one reason: Dec Ferguson.
He had an Apple logo sticker on the front of his diary. To him, if you didn't sleep with an Apple Mac in your bed every night, you were some kind of retarded caveman.

I remember him talking about them to me in the pub once. I went off to the toilet and spoke to the black handwasher man instead.

I have a macbook and my desktop is xp. Use macbook for internets, photoshop, video editing. Use desktop for web design.
This is such a half assed post

All the arguments that get levelled against PCs are, in my opinion, really losing strength.
"A PC is designed for work, not fun" - so get the Home version of Vista. Not to mention it's compatible with every video game under the sun. PCs can play every movie and every song that a Mac can; and they can download every piece of Apple media software.
"All the viruses target PCs, a Mac hardly ever gets a virus" - when was the last time a virus seriously and fatally affected you? Anti-virus software is nigh-impregnable, unless you're a dumbass and open a spam email, in which case you deserve to get a worm. Plus the fact that viruses aren't programmed for Macs tells you that they aren't worth attacking, because no one uses them.
"Windows is ugly, the Mac OS looks pretty" - if you seriously think this, then get the Panther skin to make your desktop look like a Mac. It takes about fifteen minutes.
"Mac monitors are far bigger" - get a widescreen. Or be a badass hacker and get multiscreens, so you can play World of Warcraft and be on GameFAQs at the same time on different screens.
I could go on. I just don't think it's worth it; with or without Dec's faggoty propoganda campaign.

Studies have shown that people who own Apple products are clinically gay.
True story.
27 September 2007, 16:51 UTC#12
It's so true. They get all high and mighty and try and shove it down your throat when really Vista Home Premium is sexy as fuck.

I use Macs at my school. I'm taking digital photography and I really have no problem with them. They might be a couple of years old, but they run like a 5 year old's nose in the middle of February (although they could use another stick of ram.) Photoshop runs great on them too.
My home computers are Windows (Dell, to be specific) and I like them too. The one I'm on now is 5 years old and slower than fuck, but the other comp, which I use for editing video, photoshop and screenwriting, runs a little better than the mac at school (more ram and better CPU).
Pretty much, I'm saying that they are about the same. The newer macs with the Dual Intel Xeon's (Maybe the Core 2 Duo even) might kick the ass out of my Dual core 3.0 Ghz Dell. I probably will buy a macbook pro sometime in the future, but I'll still have Windows for somethings.

I just started College, and they use it for editing there.
I disslike them, Probly because there new to me, but the whole Ctrl>Click to right click really gets on my tits.
I know its a stupid reason, But it annoys the hell out of me, Also the little apple you have to click to use the copy&paste shortcut.

If I continue with college studies and majoring in Media Production, I have to have a Mac by my junior year. I'm looking to go ahead and get one soon, hopefully, so I can get familiar with Final Cut.
27 September 2007, 21:40 UTC#23

27 September 2007, 23:13 UTC#24
I'd take the computer over the car. Editing is so much faster for me now.
