I sent eli's cam to panasonic because they told me I would get a replacement or they will repair it.. I sent it in 3 weeks ago Fed-ex so I know it got there the next day.. they called me yesterday to tell me that it would be about 300 dollars to repair it.. I asked them about the warranty and they said that there wasn't a proof of purchase, all that was with it was a problem description... but really I stapled the receipts to the problem description so they must've taken them off and threw them away or something.. and I didnt' make copies so now we just have a broken cam with no proof of purchase.. jerks

did u use a card to buy it? I know that over here you can use a bankstatment as a proof of purchase, as that is in your rights as a consumer.

Should have thought it out better and just sent them a photocopy of the receipt rather than the original. We had a Panasonic camera fuck up on us as well, it was a 3CCD GS180 Mini-DV that we used to tape with, fortunately we had purchased it from Costco before they stopped providing a lifetime warranty on camcorders and we were able to get a refund. So a word of advice: don't buy Panasonic.

yeah, I really didn't think that they would try to screw us out of it considering they are a multi-million dollar company.. but I guess they got that way somehow
eli bought his at circuit city, when we took it to them a month after purchase, they said they couldn't help us because they dont' sale that cam any more.. typical

no joke.. so if anyone knows of any place we can take a cam to get it repaired... that won't cost just as much as a camera... let me know

this sucks.
It seems that all the companies ae like that, my big bro had some issues with his iPod he bought last year and it took more than a month to have a result. He finally had like 10 pairs of earbuds and iPod socks shipped express for free
anyway good luck to get it repaired

I think it's a camera in the GS line. I have a GS300 and love it. It has awesome quality for it's size. It doesn't get as much use now since I got the VX.
This is a sucky situation. My Panasonic hasn't given me a single problem since I bought it last January.
19 September 2007, 17:05 UTC#14
well I don't know what happened to it.. it just all of the sudden stopped working one day.. but we prolly won't ever get it fixed.. prolly just need to start savin up for a new one

I almost had canon do that to me until I forwarded all the emails a rep sent me. they were all.. this is going to be 180 bucks to repair. and I was like.. bulllshit, your rep told me it would be free cause it was a common defect in this model. so, after a day of bitching they did it for free. you should just bitch and bitch to them.

I have done that for about a month... finally I just calmly told the 40th person I talked to " hey, I tell you what, why don't you just send the camera back, I'll throw it away, and then we will save some money to buy another piece of crap and just hope it doesn't mess up on us".....
