I know there are some damn good taggers around HGF. am really interested in doing a couple pieces myself. what equipment will I need? any tips you would be willing to share with a n00b?
ive got a few ideas drawn up, havent perfected them, but drawing daily to get it down.

Don't paint anything. Maybe paint something after doodling on paper for a year or two.. Otherwise just don't. You will embarass yourself.

Beltons/Montanas/Krylons and a shit load of caps (both fat and thin). That, and sketch sketch sketch...
...and more sketching. Practice makes perfect. Don't piece staright away either start with tags and thow-ups then move on to bigger shit.
Never bite either, this can get your head kicked in. Also, use common sense when it comes to respecting the work of others. Failure to do so may also result in you getting your head kicked in.

not many graff artist in my neck of the woods.
but im totally new to this, dont know anyone that does tagging of any sort personally so I cant follow someone around to watch and learn

but im never been into painting really, ive just doodled with pencils while I was bored.

my dad owns his own business doing contracting work for steel mills. right now his company is branched at two steel mills. he also owns a scrap yard (dirty work, but big money). he has a few other projects going too, but I dont know everything.
my dad likes to make me work for my money that I get from him because my family was dirt poor at one time. he started the business from scratch, and kept customers satisfied enough to make a lot of money. he still holds on to his hardworking standards that he had when he was poor because if he didnt work hard, then we didnt eat. his hard work got him to the top, and thats what he wants me to learn.

Don't worry about biting or being called a biter, stealing letter structure from other writers and making it your own is how everyone got started at one point.
This is the part everyone tends to want to skip. Start a blackbook. Try and come up with a 4 or 5 letter word.. a symbol.. whatever.. start drawing. It'll take awhile before you can create unique structures to whatever you're sketching.
Find an isolated wall somewhere, prefferably where noone will fuck with you.. or see it. Practice painting. Only paint on this wall when you feel like painting. Watch yourself progress. I've known some really good artists who could draw for days, but when they picked up a can of paint they were horrible. Work on your can control and you'll be cutting lines like a pro.
Most importantly.. paint because you enjoy it.. not to get your name out there.
