Anyone heard of this ridiculous offer? Goes to show how godamn competitive the broadband industry is getting when there are insane deals like this. Anyone tempted by this? I heard Oranges broadband service is the worst.
For the layman; Sign up to Orange broadband and then you get a free laptop from PC World, it was some advert shown on TV. In any case, I wonder what the terms of the contract are like.

That laptop looked fucking awful low. If you tried hard enough you could get a capable laptop for less than £100 I think, which is probably less then you'll be paying out of the contract you'll be signing for.

Yeah, but even the most basic laptop is worth ~£300 and for the average Joe, it'd probably more than suffice.

Rip off, there internet is bare minimum. Stay away. Like Kane said the Laptop is a joke.
22 July 2007, 09:56 UTC#5
also they tie you in to an 18 month contract afaik. fuck that.
22 July 2007, 10:02 UTC#6
18 month contract ....£15 a month. And yeah the free laptop looked shit and orange braodband is meant to suck.
22 July 2007, 10:12 UTC#7
and its only two meg speedwise and has a 2GB download limit

It's a good ploy though. I can see a lot of families like 'we might as well get this, we can give the free laptop to our son/daughter for uni' or something.
22 July 2007, 22:15 UTC#9
yup then said son or daughter gets to uni finds that the laptop is a piece of crap, burns it, and buys a decent one with their student loan

I never heard of this provider but my guess would be that the laptop is a piece of shit!
