Lost Film

Just wanted to know how much film people have lost. either by taping over something you had or not recording it on accident..


I have recorded over a pretty good tree fall and I have accidentally pushed record before a stunt then puched record and it wasnt recording during the stunt 3 times 1st time was a trip in mcdonalds 2nd time was a piss the pants in wal mart and 3rd time was today I got hit with 2 tubes on each side and lost it...

just wanted to know if anyone else was an idiot or if its just me =[

how do you lose tapes??? I have never lost a tape

just forget what I do with them, im lost tapes from getting condensation in my camera and trying to eject them and they just fuck up.

I lost a car roof jump into a bush by taping over it accidently (very pissed off by that). Hendo also fucked up filming pones' fire roll which resulted in him recieving third degree burns to his ass....dunno how he fucked it, I wasn't there. But the stunt never made it to tape.

Used to do nothing but tape over footage so we losts loads of it from that, uhh back in the day I used to just leave tapes lying around and that fucked up alot of really good fotage.

leaving tapes around ruins the footage???


also I just remembered we didnt get a trip in the school cafeteria and it cause of the record thingy but we did it again a month later and got it

leaving tapes beside or on top of speakers, monitors, computers anything that has any type of magnit in it will fuck you tapes up hardcore. Tapes are make from thin plastic with in an easy way to understand it metal sprinkled onto it.

huh I never knew that... what happens to the film ?? like sometimes I have random lines going threw parts

May have lost some footage where I got shit on the head by a cow, but not 100% sure that it's completely gone... Didn't LOSE it as such, just can't get it off the hard drive Camera it's on.

BTW, Rikki, cheers for the heads up on tape damage. I ran straight out and moved all my tapes ten metres from the computer, lol.

haha, yeah I learnt it in class, im in a television and videp production program. I actually have a test on Tape and players n shit tomorrow. Cameras, tv,vtrs n shit are more complicated then you think!

If you have random lines in your footage it's most likely because of dirty video heads. I had the same thing happen to me. I just bought a cleaning tape and it fixed the problem. I haven't lost any footage so far. I'm always sure to do an end-search before filming and I keep my tapes all in a safe place.

This new Arse Marks almost didn't happen becuase of somethin with my hard drive. Worst week and a hlaf of my life

Lost a few gigs of dece footy because my hard drive dyed.

I´ve lost plenty of awesome footage. Some of my best stuff. Cant go in detail because of nature of the clips, but theu would have been my top footage.

Yeah it sucks balls, but it wont happen anymore if I can help it.

yeah I have a external with all my shit, but im gunan buy anyother one to zip all my video files and put them on it as a backupdrive.

We lost real good footage before, Our people would watch shit one day and record over it the next. What I do now after every big shoot, I hit the safety record switch on your mini DV tape. For those of you who don't know it is a little green tab at the base of your tape, switch it so it opens up... this tells the camera that this tape is locked and cannot record.

louzys camera lost alot of great stunts from the weekend of chaos, the other time him and louzy kid filled at mine for aweekend. he didnt press record for some of them and most the time it would be recording but nothing would save to tape.

iv lost so much dvd worthy footage from a tape being stolen/lost.

and recorded over stuff. and badly filmed stuff and the record buttons been hit stoping it from recorded more.

oh well. live and learn I geuss.

Recording over stuff is the worst feeling. Or when you were already recording, you didn't notice, and you press record, so you get everything you didn't mean to and vice versa.

I've lost over 5 tapes all with shit on it.
mainly skits.
I have taped over many things.
Like recently my friend david lighting his head on fire....
I was half awake and started taping my cat and than woke up a little and was like "Mother Fucker!"
On one of my tapes I lost alot of good footage like chris being engulfed in flames from a firework bomb we made. I mean engulfed, things like that make me sad.....

I think no one's had a tougher time with losing footage than Moody, let's not forget his plight. Poor guy.

When we filmed for our second mix-up we had loads of shit hot footage. But I cant find the tape.

I cant find a tape of a party that I filmed months ago, a guy almost died of a alcohol induced coma.. was priceless. everyday im searching it EVERYDAY.

and well, bad filming happens more that losing a tape.

Ive lost tapes, filmed over good video and broke tapes, you can ay im not good wth tapes.
