As far as I know, they are paying, plus you don't have to send them anything because they will come to you. Even if they do film you without saying your name, at least you can add it to your resume. It helps to have a history of face time on television, especially on MTV. My advice would be to wear a shirt with your name on it for the interview.

Hey Safety I just wrote this guy, I am interested in jumping on board with his show. Also good for promoting. Here is what he writes back to me:


DUDE!!! YOU'RE THE VENDING MACHINE GUY!!?!?!

My boss has been going nuts about your clip for weeks now. He kept
asking me "Why can't we find this kid?"

We'd more than likely want to feature this clip on our show. What
happened that day? Just a concussion?

First off, if they are paying - how much? When MTV does pay, they pay shit.

As for wearing your shirt with your URL on it, even on a popular MTV show - that wont bring in shit. And for what little traffic it does bring in - 99% of groups dont even have DVDs for sale on their site. Whats the point? Trading in your best footage for a few hits? Dumb move.

It's very easy to make lots of money licensing your footage if you know the right people. Giving it to MTV, of all people, for pennies (if that) is fucking retarded.

Only way Id let MTV use any of my shit is if they left my watermark in. That wont happen, so they can fuck themselves.

It's amazing how much they make and yet theyre the biggest jews in network television.

I'd really like to see what happens from all of this...not really in terms of what groups go on or whatever, just the outcome of the show.

It does seem like kind of a cool concept... Just have to find out whether or not they accept submissions from outside the US.
Do you reckon they'll take fire roll footage?

I dont know... because that one dude hit his face doing a flip off a vending machine and you could technically say that was self inflicted because he made it happen basically, I guess self inflicted means like cutting and shit

We were contacted by these guys as well.

Not for any certian clip, they were asking us if we had any footage that led to a nasty scar, and they want it recent.

Also, nothing that you did to intentionally leave some sort of scar. They want stuff that went wrong and nasty.

Yeah, that's how I figured it. Image file not present in the recovered backup I might as well hit em up... I have some gnarly surgery footage of cactus spikes being cut out of my hand after six months of festering, lol.

my name is mike gaboff, and I didnt want to get hurt I was just out of it that day.

also the producer from this show called me and yes they are paying for footage, and they are shooting interviews at your location to build up whatever clip they broadcast. I am guessing its anywhere from $1500 to $2500 a clip that's usually the rates networks like that pay for non exclusive rights.

They came and interviewed Cris, then all of us at once while we watched the clip on Kevin's gigantic TV, and then Kevin and I individually. I can't wait to see it. They showed me some already edited examples of other people they've interviewed already. And I'm just glad they're not trying to make the kids look like idiots. Just to basically be like a RealTV sort of thing. The only thing I didn't like is the fact we weren't allowed to wear our www.extremebumming.com T-shirts on camera. I guess that's understandable. We didn't get paid either, but I really don't care about that. They're gonna put us on MTV and they said that we'll get mad traffic regardless of whether or not they mention our site. So, hopefully all goes well. And we'll get to have our 15 minutes of fame. Maybe this will be a new beginning for Extreme Bumming. More to come.

Nice attitude, I didnt watch the video but if its good enough to go on TV chances are you couldve licensed it to some websites and made around $500.
