I finally got the chance to watch my FAT Videos DVD this weekend. Here's a review.
Packaging - Well, the packaging itself isn't professional, but it gets the job done. It's cheap, but it's only 10 bucks so you can't expect amazing things. It works really well and isn't important enough to really worry about.
Layout - The DVD layout is really well done, I'm not sure what program you used to put it together, but it turned out really well. It has a menu screen with 2 options of special features and the feature itself, both are video buttons and it looks really great.
Content - This is a great DVD. It has awesome stunts that really surprised me. I hadn't really thought of FAT Videos for their stunts but they definitely surprised me with this. There's some really painful stunts in here that look great. Not as good as DR or SPDST, but FAT Videos has a whole lot to offer outside of just stunts and that's what really made this DVD unique. It has some truly hilarious pranks in it that to me are the strong point of the feature. They're just so funny and the outcomes end up being the best that they could be. The people they prank react perfectly and it's just really great to watch. Another strong aspect of the DVD is the BMX montages and consequential spills. They have both street and dirt montages that both look really awesome. Their riders are really talented and it adds another great piece to the feature.
Bonus Features - They seemed a bit rushed and added as an after-thought. They're still worth watching though. It's mostly conversations but they are pretty funny, they're not edited really so it takes a little away from the experience, but since they are bonus features, I didn't expect a lot of great stuff, still worth watching though to kill time.
Editing - The editing to this is really good too. The music is well-selected and everything flows really well into everything else. It's not ground-breaking or amazing, but it works really well and everything looks smooth. The ending montage is really well done and took a lot of time to film and edit and everything turned out perfectly, in my opinion.
I give it a 8.5/10. It's not the best DVD you'll ever see as far as stunts go. But, if you're looking for a complete feature with multiple strong-points like BMX and Pranks too, then this is definitely for you. All of its parts work really well and it makes for a completely entertaining experience. Buy this DVD, it's well worth it.
