And yeah that would be kinda sad......if it was real.....and happend too me....but it happend to a fictional cartoon character and his fictional cartoon dog therefore it was not sad.

I was more sad when they cancelled the show.

Then I was happy when I found out they're making more. Happy and turned on.

Fry's dog gets fossilised, fry then accepts that his dog probably forgot about him a while ago. There's then a scene of his dog aging back in the past, wating for Fry to return. It ends with a scene of the dog going to sleep, possibly dying.
