My dad just went to China. He said its insanely over populated, and that people even with college degrees are lucky to make a dollar a day.

He said he talked with a woman who has a college degree and works at a store that sells stones for jewelery and stuff of that sort. She makes only commissions, and her commission is one tenth of a percent. lol. And thats considered to be a good job over there.

China is basically like Germany when Hitler was in charge, I can't understand why the Chinese tolerate being shielded from information, are banned from doing shitloads of things etc.

If I was Chinese I'd be majorly fucked off with the govnerment.

My sister-in-law is from a rich chinese family that moved to Singapore when she was like 4. I spoke to her about this kind of shit a while ago, she says that if you're a doctor/lawyer/any other well-off occupation in urban China, you're pretty much sorted. However, like Sean said, loads of people can't get jobs even if they are properly trained, so if you aren't in the tiny minority that have secure employment, you're fucked. They don't all submit, quite a few are really, really pissed off. Whenever Western TV crews go to poor areas they're swamped by people begging them to tell the world how shit they have it (one of the reasons China closely monitors foreign journalists in its borders). The army are also very active in putting down any resistence.

China is a fuck-up country.

Ben's correct there, China is vital to the economy in far more ways than you can possibly imagine.

I believe statistically, the US spends around $1 billion per month purchasing Chinese tangible goods.
