Louzy has this camera. You need a hi-def firewire I think.

Actually, I dont have a clue, we never use the HD setting.

I believe they're around £300 - £350 which converts to $586 - $684 US, you'll probably pick it up considerably cheaper than my dollar figure as US currency inflation is rather high at the moment so the GBP is strong against the dollar.

Weird

I could swear I saw the same camera in Curry's for ~ £350

Having said that Curry's do have shitloads of half price / discount deals on cams ATM.

does anyone know if capturing footage shot in 24p is any different than normal 29.97? I know in premiere you gotta select the project settings to 24p, but does it capture all the same?

I was looking at this cam, but the HD put me off.... not that its bad, but I just wouldn't be able to use it and figured I'd be paying a few extra 100 for nothing.

Instead I went with the Panasonic GS500, don't think it's as good, but it's close. :D
Happy filming!

At first glance I thought it was a hard drive based cam, you can kinda see the mini DV logo on it though :)

Congrats Boner! You are the man in my book! I think you just capture through the firewire port, or maybe you should read the manual.

To Weak, 24p is just the setting you set. Capturing would be the same way... I've never done it, but it can't be any different.

I think it's called a "HDMI" wire, or DVI.

Supposedly alot better quality than firewire, in HD video that is.

Anyway, we figured out how to capture HD! It was a really simple free utility to DL.
