well I brought this up a few months back whn I found out and I think it will pale in comparison. may be a decent movie on its own. but fuck it as a sequel to an awesome filum.

Don't think they can build up as good of an atmoshpere as the the British version. There's just something eerie about London that you can't recreate anywhere else
But I'll watch this when it comes out

Robert carlyle is a god (Begbie from trainspotting, anyone?) But the fact that they're in effect remaking 28 days later, which, IMHO was passable at best, is just sad.
Read the day of the triffids, or watch the film.. You'll see a lot of plot points conveniently "lifted" By Danny Boyle and Alex Garland. tHe pommy version will Pwn this... And Garland should stick to novels... THe Beach ruled.

Danny Boyle is producing this. I doubt he'd let his creation go to shit. I think this film is gonna kick ass.

Yeah, I was going to say that Weak, it's done by the same people. It's not just an American adaptation, it's set in Britain again by the same people that did the first one. It just happens to have a few American actors in it. I think it looks awesome, but that's just the first impression based on the trailer. Can't wait.

I have no problem with the whole "America to the rescue!" thing. I just think it was a film best left alone.

I'll give it a chance though and am eager to seeee.

Yar, I agree that a sequel to this badass movie completely ruin it, but I don't necessarily think the drive of this is to glorify America or to sort of make it seem like America is The Messiah of the world or anything. At least I don't look at it like that. But a lot of American movies do that a lot - especially America WWII movies. There are a lot of movies that really don't make America look like saviors too though. Look at Apocalypse Now, for example.

I thought it looked pretty good. The camera shots of the first one were amazing, hope they keep up the presentation and not just put more blood in because they have a bigger budget.

It's a big tunnel that runs under the thames between Island Gardens and Greenwich.

Oh... Boyle actually having a hand in this actually lifts my spirits higher... But only slightly. Some movies are better off with no definitive climax, or where are they now? Type setting. Oh well... We'll see, coz stylistically, 28DL had a lot going for it.
Anyone know if Alex Garland is also back on board?

That [the old one] is a very special movie. Because it is so realistic, it happens in the real world, and it has a believable story.. Not like those horror movies, where the whole movie happens in one building, and you exactly know that it is just made up.

I've watched it twice. It made me frightened both times.

Yes it is. MIR falling from space and radiation causing dead people to raise.. its not that "real".

I liked 28 Days Later, so hopefully this wont be too much of a dissapointment.
