You shouldn't make a sequel to a film so average.

You're right, I shouldn't do that
But seriously, didn't you like it at all?
I thought it was pretty good. Not scary at all, but I thought it had its moments. What was ridiculous though, was how they had Quentin Tarantino's name all over it when he really didn't have much at all to do with it
I liked how they portrayed the filthy germans in it as well, that's exactly how I see them. Nice and warm on the outside, but when given the chance, letting all hell come loose from the inside

Hostel was the most overrated piece of garbage I've ever seen, and I've seen Cabin Fever (by the same bloke...coincidence?)
I absolutely hated how they billed it as the goriest film ever, when there was like five, ten minutes tops of real gore. "omg a woman fainted during the previews": I guess she got heatstroke from all the hot air the mediocre director was blowing. That parts that weren't decidedly average gore were that fucking American cunt running around with a gun taking out all the baddies leading up to a nice happy ending. What a load.
And that bit where he jacks a car from the hostel, and gets stopped in the street by the gang of kids. He remembers that you can buy their trust with candy. He looks down, and LO AND BEHOLD, a fat bag of sweets, with enough to go around. WHAT THE FUCK. The car was being driven by a psycho who paid to torture and murder people, he would NOT have a giant bag of raspberry bootlaces so conviniently placed.
And when the Japanese girl jumped in front of the train: can anyone else say "predicatable"?
I'm not brown nosing, but straight after watching this, we stuck on Arse Marks 11 and I enjoyed it infinitely more than that packaged Hollywood "Americans always win in the end" shit heap that probably cost millions to make that would have been ultimately better spent on something like a Quaser Laser, or cock fighting ring.
Fuck the sequel.

I remember praising hostel, I was blinded by the gore, but many people have set me straight and I think it's a load of bullshit to make a sequel, there just wasn't enough open ends to even write another. just an attempt to scale the box office charts again with tastless gore we've seen all our lives and boobies.
31 October 2006, 18:46 UTC#6
Gore, what gore? Like Liam said, everybody was talking about all the Gore it had.. that it was horriblr.. unwatchable.. common.

I loved Hostel and am glad to see there will be a sequel.
The only overrated piece of shit is the Saw series.
Wolf Creek and Hostel are both awesome.

What parts of Hostel did you admire? I'm interested because to be honest none of it jumped out at me as original or particularly entertaining.

werd, altho, I believe hostel got a little more recognition than it deserved. still an enjoyable piece if you're not all about a strong storyline.

I liked all of it. It was a good story and had good characters.
I never once have gone to see a movie for gore...if you guys are looking for gorefests you should stock up on Japanese Category III flicks. You wont be dissapointed.
31 October 2006, 18:57 UTC#11
It was alrite, I think I enjoyed it less because of the hype, so I felt let down. The first hour should have been cut though, then it might have been better. There didn't need to be a build up to a predictable film.
31 October 2006, 20:55 UTC#12
thats what im saying. THE MOVIE WASNT EVEN GOREY I thought that final destination 2 had more gore then hostel. I just dont understand. like I say all the time. THIS IS GARBAGE.
LMAO please pelase please, tell me what about wolf creek made it a good film? that was literally the single worse film I ever wasted 8.25 on.

I'll have to agree with the majority here, Hostel was garbage. And I think the Saws rock while Wolfcreek sucked haha. Eli Roth just doesn't make movies I find to be very entertaining really, his movies just rely too much on the hackneyed overused elements of the mainstream popular horror genre today, he's not as good as some people try to make him out to be.
31 October 2006, 21:43 UTC#14
sorry WEAK, Hostel and ESPECIALLY Wolf Creek suck dick.
31 October 2006, 21:50 UTC#15
I agree that watching a movie just for gore and ignoring other vital elements to film like plot development and characterization are senseless. It's like just using the internet for porn. There's a lot more to it than what you're using it for and wasting your time.
31 October 2006, 23:08 UTC#16
This movie sucked balls, I saw the teaser for it before Saw III and was so bummed that someone greenlighted another fucking hostel.
I was exciting on seeing the first one cause I was told the first half was porn, then the second was gory violence, there was no porn to speak of (unless you count softcore, which I don't, and there was only a few clips off that) and the violence was so retarded, they used those faggoty angles so they didn't actually have to show exactly what was going on, which ruined it.
Fuck hostel.

Yeah, Wolf Creek was ok at best, kinda slow, but Hostel was fucking terrible.
01 November 2006, 02:00 UTC#19
Yeah, Wolf Creek was best than lots of "horror" movies out this last years. But Hostel wasnt that good.
01 November 2006, 04:11 UTC#20
If the movie's characters suck then so will the movie. Look at Saw 2. I felt like I was watching an episode of 7th Heaven. You had the typical crazy black guy. The little douche bag son. The stupid cop who cant act for shit. And then that cancer faggot who wants to play games.
Hostel and Wolf Creek both had good chracters....good acting. The stories were both half way realistic too. Saw is just a rip off Seven.

You have the gentlemenly sensibilities of a southern aristocrat and the eloquence of Winston Churchill.
And the cock of a sizable mountain lion.
Now hook me up with some ice cream, boy.

To be fair, I think this could turn out better. You know it will just be tits and gore. There are more women, and probably more gore. This could be a nice casual watch.

I like a good story to fit in somewhere in a movie I'm paying to see.
