before Rico came down to see me I told him "bring the Rip/Off movie, I need to see the Rip/Off movie", and it was brought.
before even watching it I tried to trade him some of my DVDs for it so I didn't have to part ways with it's majesty but Rico was stern with his un-compliance.
I put it in my DVD player, it skips, it skips, it skips, I cry and die a bit inside. My brother gets pissed at me, and denounces me as a relation of his.
So I try my computer, and it still skips in parts but over all it plays perfect.
(BTW: It was skipping because during Rico's road trip something craked the middle of the disk, it didn't have anything to do with how the Rip/Off DVD was pressed, because it used to work perfect for Rico).
Editing: In some section of the DVD I was fucking amazed at how smooth, and creative Ben's editing was, I can safely say he is one of the best editors in HG and definatly has his own impressive style, you get to see a bit of it in trailer six but nothing like how it is in the DVD. The way they broke up the DVD as well was really enjoyable, they had a hunt clip section, and old clips section, and so on but it still didn't feel like I was watching a bunch of differn't seperate releases put together in one DVD.
Stunts: Alot of the stunts wern't anything "OH MY FUCKING GOD *CRAPS PANTS* there were defintaly a few of those (note Jones fire stunts, Bencka's fucked up arm, ect...) but it was entertaining non the less. The filming of the stunts though was hella creative, you'll see what I mean, I don't know if this was do to Vode's presence or if it's just Finnish ingenuity but the angles make light tube breaking over the back fun to watch again.
Pranks: "The Preacher" and "Mall Montage" were my favorite prank segments, the Preacher was just creative, funny and over the top, the Mall Montage was just non-stop hilarity. There were alot of other pranks but those are the two that really left an impression.
Antics: I had to create a section for review just for Rip/Off, there antics were what really made the DVD what it was, the shit between members and random footage was what gave this DVD such a fun feeling, you really feel like your watching a documentary on Rip/Off and how they enjoy day to day life.
In closing, I can't wait for Rip/Off 2 and am gonna try to meet up with them on there tour when they come to the Americas.
Buy this DVD, I need to as soon as I get my next check.
