Four dead as plane crashes into N.Y. high-rise
Associated Press

A small plane with New York Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle aboard crashed into a 50-storey condominium tower Wednesday on Manhattan's Upper East Side, killing at least four people and raining flaming debris on sidewalks, authorities said.

While there was no immediate confirmation Mr. Lidle, 34, was among the dead, a law enforcement official in Washington, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Mr. Lidle was on the plane.

Federal Aviation Administration records showed the single-engine plane was registered to the athlete, who played for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2003.

The four deaths were confirmed by city police. There was no immediate word on other injuries linked to the crash, which occurred on an overcast afternoon.

Looks like he made it all the way to third base!

If by third base, you mean death.

Yeah but seriously, very sad :(

I hope your cheap kicks in a plane you didn't know how to fly was worth taking the lives of three people and instilling terror in hundreds all over again.

I don't get how that happens, what was he thinking? Surely your taught not to fly so low as to hit buildings?

I personally hope that this isn't taught. I find it a lot more reassuring to think that pilots would instinctivly know that flying low in an urban area packed with skyscrapers is dangerous.

Actually no we're not.
Cory Lidle didn't throw curve balls since the 2000-2001 season when his thumb was cut off by a lawnmower in a horrible accident. So you taking up 'death' and 'curve ball' in the same sentence is highly inappropriate and just wrong not to metnion uncalled for. Let me just ask you Liam, how do you look yourself in the mirror?
