Well form the sadly human thread I got this question and I was wondering if people film just for something to do and have fun or be all HARDCORE and do it for fans and such or what not.

Hmmm, when I first started filming it was to be just like Jackass I guess, inspired by wrestling and CKY etc, but yeah it was fun. :D

But after that more for the thrill, but I never really got to film for the "thrill" as we died out, haha.
Getting a cam for Xmas though...

For the fun, to make other people laugh.. and have something to be proud of. Its just lovely, when you tell you have a new video to your friends, you show it to them and see how they enjoy it. Its a feeling I would never get tired of.

Many reasons, It leaves memories for years ahead to look back on and be like "oh my god I forgot I did that", It's fun, I enjoy it, and I love the fact that people over the world will see the videos and have some reaction to it, whether they love it or hate it, it's caused a reaction. And the fact that there will be people who know my name and know about me who I've never spoke to in my life. It's like a mild version of fame.

Started off for fun, now it's become more of a serious issue. Not saying that it isn't fun, but it's more for the product.

I get it kinda get what you are saying, there were some things we were like that would be for the DVD but usually all of our stuff is stuff we think would be fun or we think is fun. And a lot of peer presser to see what the person will do. That kinda how tyler gets people to do shit. This weekend he took about 2 hours to talk my buddy into doing something. I will release it soon.

IM not gonna vote onyl because, I film for fun, for memories, for laughs, because insouth jersye their aint shit to do, and I am a dumb ass mofo anyways so mine as well get alot of it on tape right? plus you get addicted to the feelin you get when people enjoy your vids and give you props and die laughing, like yuou affected them in some way...I dunno its weird but like mako said, it never gets old. so I think its a little of everything for me.

At first for me, I wanted to start a jackass crew because just like everyone else, they watched CKY and Jackass and wanted to do the same thing. Alot of us used to go in a friends basement and film us skating and doing stunts then and watch them. It was fun. So I bought a camera and started filming friends do random bush jumps and shopping carts. Edited with music and watched it and it made me and all of us feel so good about our selves because it was soo cool. Now, it's like our life which is not a bad thing at all. It's still fun but we do it more now becuase we feel we have to and don't want it to die. People ask us all the time how lunatiks are and when our next video is coming out and they can't wait so it makes us wanna film more to get videos out there. I have to admit, I got tired at a certain point filming cause it was just getting to much but then after I took a week off from filming and from the hg scene I realized that lunatiks was apart of my life now and it was just soo boring that I thought about how we wouldn't be filming funny shit anymore so I said fuck it, lets keep going and we made about two-three new videos since then and they are amazing.

We are never going to die even if it gets to a point where a few members are left, I will always still be filming and editing.

Might sound ghey, but it's true. It's like the NWO, LUNATIKS 4 LIFE NIGGAH!!!!! lol, okay that was gay...

It was originally just for fun, to film me and my friends acting like complete tools and having a cheap laugh at ourselves; not to mention entertain other local people. Then it got into a obsession with me and Istarted doing concerts and other events, then finally to skits, short films and music videos.

Memories.

All my stuff is about memories. Not doing big stunts to look cool etc.

I film anything and everything, so I can look back at it when im 70 and say, man did I have some fucking fun.

I live on a fucking island. When you live on an island that is mostly residential you tend to get bored because there isn't shit to do. And I'm a very curious person, so I thought I would try something new. When I got a camera I started filming me and my friends doing pranks, skits, and us just screwing around. And then we began filming the stunts, which you all know are fun and exciting.

Sucked into it after cky1 just started filming skits and stuff. eventually it became "lets do some real sick shit for the next video." all my life I've been an entertainer and whatnot through classclown acts and been doing weird things since day 1. This was just a great new medium to me. for the past year I've been the only real one to have the visions and the want to make a "product" that people will enjoy. fuck yeah I've "wasted" tons of money on filming and doing dumb things, breaking things that costs money to fix and losing jobs and respect in my family and so on, but I dont care cause im having fun and LIVING LIFE. I look back and never get bored, I've always had stories to tell and now with doing stunts and being reckless and selfless, it makes it easier to go through with my philosophy "if you want good stories, you have to make them" and not make them up, but make your life full of events that are worth discussing! And the desire to film now is so incredible, the thought of new stunts or how a shot will come out or a friendsreaction to a prank or how to edit the next dvd and how people will react to it is going in my head nonstop 24/7. I was distracted by a test last yesterday because I kept thinking of joey cutting my arm in half with a chainsaw on accident or something. its hard doing it on your own learning to edit, promotion, ideas, most of the stunts, 50% of the filming and motivation even if you're freinds are crazy they're also lazy. but its a great feeling and I think it can be said for everyone on homegrown that they'd do anything for some decent footage that will get viewers to have a great time and just as importantly for themselves to have a great time. Yeah I dont know I love this stuff, im glad I found this forum cause its cool to see a whole scene of people who are just out there pushing themselves for everyone's pleasure
SWYD!

I push myself back and forth for everyones pleasure....how many of you can say that? Image file not present in the recovered backup

I always wanted to film, originaly wanted to film animal documentaries to be honest.

Then I found CKY and though it would be more fun and interesting to film stunts, skating and pranks.

alot of reasons, for fun, to express myself, relive moments, and my over all goal is making the craziest most original film ever.

I would say yes to the first 3.

Filming and editing is fun for me. In the end I always find it rewarding, and that will be even more true when I have finished my DVD.

As for impressing people - Isn't that what the whole point of making a DVD? To share with everyone? For everyone to see your crazy life and your crazy antics? It feels good when someone watches your videos and is impressed. It feels good when someone watches your videos and goes "OMFG you did not seriously do that did you?!?!". I dont film just to show off, but being able to impress people with my work is one of the things that makes releasing videos worth while.

And as for memories - thats probally the main reason I do what I do. About 5 years ago '60 Minutes' or some other news show did an episode about people who film their own crimes and stuff of that sort. They interviewed a psychologist who said that people do it as a way to relive the adrenline over and over. Eh...I dont really know where Im going with this but its cool to relive the moment.

Life happens fast, there are some moments I like to watch in slow motion and filming makes that possible. Thats why filming your own porn is a must!
