I agree that in a big way the Bumfights DVD's contributed to this supposed rise in "bum violence" or whatever. But they can't blame McPherson & Co. for all of it and act like they're scum of the Earth like 60 minutes is doing. That's pretty low of them. To place the blame on them like they led the kids out there by hand and told them to duplicate the stuff they did. They didn't, they produced and sold a violent DVD. Nothing worse than Die Hard or any number of Action movies that condone violence as a resolution to anything, V for Vendetta for example. It once again comes down to the parents controlling their damn kids, if they're impressionable enough to go out and duplicate something they see on tv or a DVD then don't let them go out and watch that shit in the first place. Plus, one thing that was consistent with every example they showed, the kids were high in the first place and then acted like idiots. I don't remember a single instance in Bumfights when any of the dudes got high first and beat up a bum. They don't even mention drugs hardly, other than the bums themselves doing them. That's all on the kids and parents again. It's pretty crappy of 60 minutes to do something like that.

I caught this last night, pretty interesting but stupid to blame bumfights since they didnt directly do the shit they are accused of. when does ryen get out of jail anyway?
02 October 2006, 20:59 UTC#15
Bumfights shows lots of bums drinking and doing drugs. I think CBS should go give those bums shit for it. Kids are gonna see that and immitate it!
02 October 2006, 21:01 UTC#16
the biggest misconseption in bumfights is. that the dvd is about bums fighting each other payed by indecline with food and drink.
totally wrong but again thats the media for you.
