as long as your comp isn't complete shit or loaded with programs and files, all you really need is a editing program and firewire port.

Thx yates, well I have been told that certain motherboards and types of ram are needed ect. ect....
I just don't want to go buy a firwire port only to find out that I can't use it on my motherboard, or it isn't compatible with it somehow.

Not too sure what you mean but if the computer has a firewire port, it's more than likely to take your wire, right?
Anyways, aside from the obvious fast processor, lots of ram and a big hard drive, a good graphics card is a def too, those GeForces are prolly the best.
I've got 1GB ram, 400GB and only a 2.2Ghz processor.... AMD Athlon 64.... and it's ran everything I've tried on it... perfectly.... not too sure about any of the top games though.
I have an ATI Radeon 9800+ graphics card thing, and thats also been fine so far.
Anyways, dunno if it's any help, not too good with this stuff but....

Thanks man, I guess I'll just look around the net and see what's the cheapest I can get.

I have a dual-core 3.0 Ghz processor, 1GB Ram, 500GB hard drive space, ATI X300 PCI-express, Sound Blaster 7.1 Sound Card. It runs fast and everything runs smoother than a babies bottom.
Haven't edited anything on it yet, but I'm about to attempt a new short film.
