We use these to film in school and I need a new camera to film with for myself. We have the better version in school but those run like $1000 from what I was told. The one I was looking at seems pretty good and from what the reviews say it is. Has night vision and all the other shit that I'll need.
Just wondering what some other people think about it or if there is another camera for about the same price that I should check out instead. Thanks.

I have a SH TRV 380d and it was $238 but they don't sell them in stores any more.
it has all of the features except its on a Digital Hi8 tape, has okay quality if you have a good USB driver on your Computer

harddrive cams are cool becuase u can upload footage really fast and no need for expensive tapes.
but its always nice to have a copy and not worry about comp crashes n stuff.

^Yeah. Well I was going to take my comp and use it for just editing and keeping the footage. plus I usually upload all of the footage on to cds first and then comp.

I´d never take a hardrive camera. Tape cameras has better quality and its easier to store backups and you can easily change the tape when other one fills up.

MY Handycam has the better quality as that Hardrive one, and its cheaper.
YOu just cant be around magnets too much

editing with DVD cameras and Harddrive cameras are SHIT!
the format is mpg which isnt as universal as avi.
