Im thinking of buying a new camera but I dont really know much about cameras. What do you guys say would be the best buy for under $1000

Yeah a DVC30 is good, but if you're looking hard you might find a vx2000 for around the same price.

Those are a little pricy for me.. im still in school so I only work like 3 days a week. it would take forever to make that much money.

If you took your filming seriously at all, you would just do it. 2 months going without weed & mcdonalds won't mean shit in the long run, I would definitely do it. Judging from your attitude though, you would be better off with something like this
