Anyone Have Any Hookups In Tokyo?

OK so Im going over to Tokyo and Japan for a holiday, does anyone know of any stunt crews over there that I can hook up with? I have no fucking idea. I tried doing a search but came up with nothing.

that brings up a good point...weve had stunt groups from everywhere but Asia haha.

There was one in Hong Kong, they were the dudes in World of Stupid but I cant think of any from Japan (apart from the Tokyo Shock Boys but they're more performers)

just go to a tv channel and film some of their crazy shows.

And back to the good point, HG seems to be very western thing. I dont remember anything from Asia, africa etc. First I thought it was the cultural differences, but then realised that e.g. those japanese tv shows are good example of the hg kind of twisted sense of humour. So its most probably guestion of money, they dont have enough $$$ to get cameras just for fun in those countries. Everybody here is bunch rich dimwits. We should sell all of our equipment and feel bad about ourselves.

Main population is still poor in these continents, wage diffences are so big. Average joe dont just walk in to sony center and buy a camera, and thats the phenomena that starts most HG groups: "K, noe I has a cam, whas I shall do...?"

And not sure about that internet censorship they have going on...

As far as I know, there's the same internet censorship in Japan as we enjoy and electronics are way, way cheaper than in Europe and the US.

I think it's more to do with influences...I don't think the homegrown scene has any presence over there: that means no Jackass, no cKy, no Dirty Sanchez. Skating is kinda popular, but I doubt you'd find many homegrown skating videos out of Japan.

The truth is, in simple terms, it never really occurred to them, I guess. Maybe it's up to Elliot to bring homegrown to those noodle-slurping yellas.

So no, in asia average joes dont buy camcorders. And most of Afrcia is also third world countries.

And for the internet censorship, its big, its very big in asia. Thousands of people are monitoring people using internet in asia as we speak. Law approves of spying on everything people do on internet and they do spy. Goverment has bureaus to watch it. And everything can be restricted and most likely places for free speach specially. Like forums, like homegrownforums. Even google accepted the censorship laws to asia

The reason why I said I wasnt sure about the censorhip was that Im not sure how reliable it really is, I would imagine normal teenager could hack through it and visit every site he wants... but then if he gets tracked, he could go in prison. Okay maybe not browsing, but e.g. in last two years in Korea they have put 9 people to prison for making sites that "werent accepted by goverment" (not sure what the content realy was).

But yeah, Goverments control (over other things than internet too) and poverty dont seem good growing plate for HG. Hg needs bored, stupid and wealthy western people.

Japan is fucking awsome, I don\'t know how lucky you will be in finding groups though. They absolutly love western culture though so I wouldn\'t be surpirsed if groups have formed through jackass over there, they do everything we do.
Japan is quite leanient actually, it\'s nothing like china. As they have no major religion in their country they are a lot more relaxed about advertising say porn.

You do realise that China and Japan are more powerfull, economically and as a militant force than America Hell, China is on its own.

Wanna know why America still thinks it is? Ignorance, govnerment and yank pride. Think about it, Microsoft want to make a product, where do they send their blue prints? China most likely, where it's produced. Then you get your generic brands in Asia as well. I highly doubt the locals there give a shit about having a global brand name slapped on their electronic devices, you´re just paying an advertising premium with products such as Sony.

The Japanese do thoroughly enjoy the western culture so I wouldn't be surprised if there are quite a few groups there but since there is censorship it will most likely be hard to locate any.

Most of Asia is arse, pure and simple. If you're gonna find a homegrown group, it's gonna be in Japan.

I don't even know why we're considering looking in sodding Mozam-fucking-bique, or the goddamn Middle East.

Japan is rich, influenced strongly by Western culture; and like Joe said, has lax censorship due to a lack of religious influence on the government.
