Confessions Of An Innocent Man. It's a documentary about some Westerners who went to work in Saudi Arabia but got wrongfully imprisoned for 2 and a half years for a car bombing, during which time they were tortured while their governments did nothing.
Worth the watch just so you can see a middle-aged man with a PhD in Biochemistry say "So I started to wash myself with my own faeces."

Surely that's like saying "so I started repairing my computer with a chainsaw". Counter-productive.

Yeah, didn't really make him any cleaner or stop the torture, so he shit on himself for nothing I suppose.

Seems like he was just looking for an excuse to do it, really.
"Mate, all this torturing is so hard, I have to wash myself in my own shit. Ahh, this is horrible. I'm not enjoying this at all. Gross."

At first they were beaten on the soles of their feet so to not leave bruises, but then they just started beating the shit out of them, getting teeth smashed out, cracking their balls with iron bars every hour. Oh and they were getting raped quite a bit too.

Fist time I ever fell asleep in the theater.
11 June 2009, 04:18 UTC#4,183
Went and saw The Hangover for only $6. Apparently the best time to go is early in the day because it's way cheaper and the theater was empty.
Anyways, I enjoyed it and it definitely had some funny moments. Nothing that just made me crack up though.
I hope that the pic at the end of the credits of Zach G getting a blowjob from an old lady was fake though, haha.

I saw the hangover today too.. but I went at the 7:10 showing tonight.
I really enjoyed it. not really all that predictable humor, and comedy stayed fresh. all the acting was good except for mike tyson's.

Well, at the most, I'll work 6 days a week. I'm off this Saturday, but I promised Amber that we'd go to the movies since we haven't been in so long. Next Saturday I should also be off, so try and get something planned for then.

Bronson.
Pretty damned good film about "England's most violent criminal," Charles Bronson. I really enjoyed it. The guy is thoroughly fucked.
7.5/10 It lost points because the only real character is Bronson, and everyone else is caricature and throw-away. But still, the man who play Bronson was immensely talented, and made the film wholly watchable and intense.

Hot Rod.
Someone here recommended it. I sat down started watching and couldn't wait for the movie to finish. A very cliché, predictable and unamusing film loaded with cheap gags and attempted random humor. Some parts made me chuckle (the riot, for example) but overall I was left disappointed, seeing as I really enjoy The Lonely Island's musical comedy.
I give this a 1.5 out of 5.

Chaos Theory - Ryan Reynolds plays a guy whose meticulously organised life is ruined by a string of unfortunate coincidences. He takes to trusting the powers of whim and chance, living his life based on cards that he draws from a hand-written deck.
This is a fairly fun little black comedy. Reynolds has some great jokes and really fits the lead well, managing to play both the neurotic, time-obsessed husband and the liberated agent of chaos with equal flair. Unfortunately, he really is the only one of the cast with anything humourous to contribute, and it feels like the whole movie is resting on his shoulders. The guy who plays his best friend Buddy is horribly flat and to be honest, I'm surprised he got the part.
As the movie progresses, it skews a little from the themes of chaos and chance versus planning and hard work (there's a great scene in which a disillusioned Reynolds delivers a corporate lecture on the futility of being good and honest if a chance event could deliver the opposite reward); and the movie seems to end up as little more than a romantic drama, which killed the mood a bit.
The cinematography is nothing revolutionary, so avoid if you're not a fan of "good guy-bad things happen to him-it all works out in the end". However, if you're in the mood for a flick that's too serious to be a proper comedy and too light-hearted to be depressing, this isn't bad.

Saw the hangover a few days ago and thought it was really funny the plot seems predictable at first but there's a lot of funny smale scale twists you don't really see coming. Good one liners too really recommend watching it I loved it.

Saw that last night, loved it. Your right, kinda predictable, but one of the better films of it's type I've seen in ages. Fucking hilarious at points.
