I never saw the first one...I heard it was awful though and I dont doubt it because I did see the original Japanese version and it was beyond retarded.

I have to admit though that the trailer for the sequel was really well done.

I've meant to see the Japanese version of this for so long.

Actually a lot of people I know have said the same thing about the first Grudge. But I have to disagree, I really enjoyed it.
A good horror flick can sometimes be bad if you're not in the mood for it.
I thought the first had all the elements for a good horror movie

edit: that scene in the hospital hallway with the blinking lights and the grudge woman looked awesome!

The Grudge is one of those films that will either scare you shitless or not at all, it just depends what gets to you, normally scary films don't bother me at all but I got so freaked out by the grudge. I don't know what it was about it but I hated it hah, came out the cinema and kept thinking there was shit moving in the shadows and that dead bird was gonna pop up at any minute.

Can't wait to see this one.

Normally I would agree with you Kane but in this case the director of the remake is the same guy who directed the original haha.

He sucks the big one double time.

I also wanna add that in my opinion the American remake of The Ring was by far better than the Japanese original...

... and then they gave the original director, Hideo Nakata, a chance to direct the American sequel...and I think all will agree that The Ring 2 was a total pile of fucking shit. I loved The Ring and was eagerly awaiting the sequel...what a fucking dissapointment. I walked out on it.

I watched the first one at 1 am by myself, because I felt like being all scared, and it didn't really scare me.
I havn't seen the jap original yet tho, I'll probably watch it along with the 2nd Grudge.
