this is just my opinion but it seems that everyone in the stunt seen looks up to danG. Hes not only crazy, hes kinda like an idol to some.

I'd probably say that that comment should be more along the lines of:

"DanG is an innovator - pushing the limits of homegrown into a new subgenre, and leading the way for similar groups to come - setting the standard for a new level of homegrown."

^Thats correct webby. Believe me, I already tried watching this guys stuff. Personally, I didn't make it much further than the banner of him drilling himself in the arm on the main page. Not that it grosses me out - I would certainly watch it, but not while I'm at work. I don't have much respect for what he does, but the quote I posted is still accurate. Its definitely not something for everyone - which is why its not raising the limits - only ushering in a new genre/style.

Then you took it really the wrong way. I have about 1/100th of a clue who this guy is. I've been to his site, and seen him around. I didn't actually make a quote - I was just refining someone elses - he was basically saying the DanG is leading homegrown in some direction, by setting a standard. I am saying he is doing no such thing. He is not setting the bar for HG groups, because not all HG groups do the same type of stuff he does. In fact, very few do anything near alike it. All HGers here have said they wouldn't do the stuff he does. That means his quote is wrong. What DanG is doing is opening up a new HG style, and setting that bar - but definitely not for all of HG. There are few that will follow in his footsteps.

I certainly mean no disrespect to DanG - I just don't personally get any pleasure from his particular form of HG - I have no respect for his way of doing things. I have no disrespect either. I stay rather neutral, and avoid watching it. But by no means do I care if a quote of mine gets in there. And my name isn't big enough for him to care what my qotes are.

you are correct that not all homegrown is into self mutilation...but the majority of Stunts have some level of pain...he isnt making a documentary on HG...he is making a dvd and it would be lame to have a quote " DanG pushes the self mutilation homegrown film-makers to a new standard"...thats way too technical...
