Now I'm probably gonna be flamed for this, but I wanna see how each and every one of you define "Homegrown", when you think of the word.

I don't wanna see any "what he said"'s or anything. Just give me YOUR definition. What Homegrown means to you.

Being that we haven't filmed outside the hunt yet, I'm not considering myself a part of the scene, so I won't define it myself.

"Homegrown" refers to a genre of movies. It is used literally because these movies are edited, or mostly filmed at home.

Homegrown too me, is about filming....be it a stunt, prank ,skit or whtever other bullshit and having a good time doing it ...putting it all together into a final video that me and the group are happy with then sharing it with the internet, and if it entertains one person it's a success.

Homegrown is creating a video from scratch with the same people involved at every stage of the making process and not getting any profit from it

Its my way of life. I was christian until I found homegrown. So now I live for it. Instead of baptisms I get buddies to puke on me. Instead of being healed with a tap on the forhead I get a florescent lightbulb.

Homegrown is fairly simple, and self-described. It's comedic videos produced by amature film makers, who are not endoresed by any big company - and do not have their videos edited professionally, or invest much money - other than bare minimums: for props, cameras, editing software (sometimes) etc.

It's made at home, not in a production studio. Simple enough.

^ lol.. obviously not really anything... but I shouldn't have limited it to videos - could be music, or other forms of media that are generally known to be produced by a $$$conglomerate production company of some sort.

I like it when people think of weed as homegrown - because, at least where I'm from, thats pretty much where it usually comes from - and so saying it's home grown is kinda redundant. But I agree that "anything" is possibly a little too all encompassing.

how is it a way of life? my dads dad did it and his dads uncle did it whos sister met a guy through a circus act that did it. it's my life.

homegrown is a step out of the reality of life for me...when im in front of a camera...I can be anyone I want...its a chance to be someone else...if we are doing a skit...I get to be someone else if only for a few minutes...its also a way to express myself in a way I could never have done before...I can break a guitar over my head and people laugh...if I walked out in the street and broke a guitar over my head...I would be a freak or psycho...I have only been in the scene for 3 or so yrs but in those few yrs I have gained lifetime friends (aaron, adem, yates, etc)...so homegrown to me is a holiday, a self-expression, a gateway to new things
