D2f V.s. Pickled Eggs

In one corner weighing in at a combined weight of 6 kangeroos the Austrailian sensation known as the Pickled Eggs.

In the other, the Pyro-maniacle D2F, hailing from...somewhere in the world.

The contest, a Faceoff, the video must contain only old content, nothing new will be allowed (not that that is a problem with either of these lazy bastards).

Each video can be no longer then 5 min's.

2 weeks from this tuesday each group will have there video posted and will be voted on by the Homegrown community.

The winner gets 1.67 cents cash, and bragging rights as the best group...4 years ago.

Oh, just read the thread a little.... this will solve nothing, I can think of 5 different PE stunts/pranks/skits which those few themselves will give D2F videos a run for their money (from what I've seen from D2F).

No one left over there is in to the HG scene at all. They downright dislike it.

But anyway - There's a good chance I'll get my ass beat. I'm out of practice, and I never was the editor. I'm running pinnacle 8 with Hi8 film. But no way am I backing down. If PE wins, I can be humble enough to admit defeat.

I uploaded a few clips that were already in tact - but you haven't seen much really.

As toward rules, I just simply ask for some time on the date. Like I said, I'm running Hi8, and I will need to digitize most of my content before I can start editing. I have a TV Tuner that I have not used yet (my pinnacle card isn't worth using) and still have to buy a coaxial cable for it (should get that done tomorrow).


But we gotta think up some limitations here:

Other than that I don't see a reason for rules.

All I ask is no preconceived notions going into the voting. You're all familiar with PE, and none of you know D2F (to speak of).

I havent ever seen PE or D2F, so this could be fun for me. =)

yeah this face off don't quite work...IMO pickledeggs reign supreme
they are the only HG that I know of to get their DVD released in stores
and they were consistant with footage and releases etc.
safety disappeared from the 'scene'...hadn't heard from D2F in like 3 years

and it also doesn't really work since pickledeggs don't shoot new footage, unless you are planning to elliot...that would be sweet...but yeah, D2F still shoots, PE doesn't...

I watched a few more of your videos and they all seem like jokes, just because your old school doesn't mean shit, I would "respect" you for what you have done for "HG" but just being a old HG group doesn't mean shit.......

You seem too hate on groups who do stunts, basically, which is the main aspect of HG nowadays, things have changed.

And who knows... you might film new footage for this faceoff, which is unfair but yeah, as you said "I havn't seen nothing yet" so I'll just have to wait for some more footage.

Im happy with him filming as much as he wants.

My clip is ready but its 6 minutes. Its an old one and doesnt even have Table for 3 in it but I cant be fucked making a new one.

No no - I frown upon certain "stunts". I am the lead stunt man from D2F. most of the rest of the group was more into skits and shorts and actual meaningful videos. I like setting myself on fire, jumping off stuff, etc.

I simply don't find it amusing to intentionally inflict pain. IMO blooper injuries are funny - but if you are intentionally doing it, you're trying far too hard. I'm not out to impress - I'm out to have fun, and hopefully impress is an added bonus. Its just my opinion, and I respect that its not shared. That is why I give the types of reviews that I do on films. I don't, by any means "hate". I give constructive criticism, and share my opinion. That has always been one of my roles in the HG community - and at CKF I set a lot of the standards.


trust me, I will have no new content. I don't have any content newer than 2003 - MAYBE 2004 - but anything that came out of '04 is probably skits, and not stunts. I'm in the military, and work under contract for the state - I have frequent background checks, etc. So I try not to do anything I'm going to get in trouble for. And as always, they call me Mr. safety for a reason.

Just look at your sig and when you first arrived you said something like this:

The videos I heard good things about really didn't hold up with anyone, and usually I like "random" stuff, with a meaning, but I really didn't see anything special about them, and you made it sound like they where special.
