Hey
I need to change a key on my keyboard cos right now the button that should be doing the flipped version of this (/) isnt working. istead it does this (#) and and its pissing me off
anyone got any good software..
also dont tell me to use Keystroke converter as I cant get a crack for the latest version.

Cant you just use "/" there? I thought it would change it to the "\" for you.

Not so far as I know. "/" is used for universal resource locators, "\" is used for local paths. They are never interchangeable.

Problem.. when I trya and apply the remap it says
"No mappings currently found in registry and no mappings were added"

Sound like you lost your registry key somehow.
Open up Registry Editor and check these keys.
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layouts\
and make sure that your keyboard layout is listed....for US keyboard is should be the 00000409 Key. If it doesn't exist, add it.
Then check it's values with the following:
Layout Display Name = @%SystemRoot%\system32\input.dll,-5000
Layout File = KBDUS.DLL
Layour Text = US
If you are missing all of the keys listed, use the attached reg file to add the default values. Rename kbdmaps.txt to kbdmaps.reg and double-click to install it. This is a.reg file - I renamed it to .txt, because if from an untrusted source windows can recognize these, .inf, and .vbs files as viruses. It probably won't, but its still easiest. When you double click it, it will restore your default settings, and it should work just fine.

I checked and its all there
this is pissing me off now.. before I reformatted my pc I had some microsoft software (as I have a microsoft keyboard) to change the layout and that was perfect.. but I dont no where I got it from and cant find it anywhere

did you try the prog I posted?
also, have you spilt anything in your keyboard? I did that once and my control key would turn the capslock on and my esc key wouldn't work.

yeah I said I tried it Adem.. it wouldnt let the new remapped keys get registered..
and no, I havent spilt anything on my keyboard. was like this when I bought it lol

right I found the microsoft software I used before
but when I try and install it says u need Net Framework so I got that and installed it.. restarted the pc but still says I need to install it????

.NET
.NET 1.1 SP1
.NET 2 (Probably wont need this one)
try getting the latest ones from the Microsoft website.
