Widescreen in Vegas.

We filmed something in widescreen on my camera and I captured it with WMM in the mode 16:9. It worked ok but when I import the video into Vegas, it's all stretched. Is there a way I go to setteings and set it to Widescreen so it isn't stretched?

I tried alot of things and couldn't figure it out so I thought I would ask my best friends

Try changing the project settings to widescreen.

Right click on the video track, choose "view event pan/crop."
A box should pop up.

At the top there should be a drop down menu, click that, choose "16:9 Widescreen" then close.

That should sort it for you.

I disagree, im rather fond of widescreen....actualy I like it more than erm..normal?! im not shure what its called.

I have a problem similiar to this, I film all my stuff in 16:9 and when I import it into Vegas, I finish editing it, do the 'event pan/crop' thing and it just puts black bars over the top of it and doesn't actually make it 16:9 as it should be so it looks all weird.

movies, version widescreen rocks....

but yes, stunts movies version widescreen are ugly.

explain your 16:9 filming .... if you are using something like sony's camera emulated 16:9 you aren't getting anything in true wide screen, you need either a widescreen lense or an HD camera with that shit built in.

you would be better off shooting your stuff with tape around your viewfinder so you can just edit in bars to make it look like widescreen.

if your camera can't shoot 16:9 anything else is ganna look stretched sadly.

Check your capture settings.
