Basically, it's a port you install into your computer (easy as fuck) and it's used for faster transfer than USB. Better for video anyways.

you stick the firewire's wire into your anus and squize your butt as hard as you can, make a little wierd sounds and move your left eyebrow so it could transfer the clips to your pc

hope that helped

EDIT: wilby you beat me to it...poohead... :*(

lol.. damn dude.. your like a peice of meat dropped into a pool of paranas in this forum! lol

Look.. here's some honest advice.. get youself an "open box" or used miniDV camcorder.. just buy the cheapest one that works. If you can't find any of those types of cameras in you price range then move down to Digital8 or Hi8 camera...

DO NOT BUY A SuperVHS!!! SVHS=CRAP

I would highly suggest getting all the cheapest accessories as well.. don't go all big on your first camera.. save the money for when you're more experienced.

Aye, get a cheap Mini DV cam, I'd recommend a Sony Handycam (Mini DV)
Just look for "IEEE-1394" (Which stands for firewire... basically)

You won't need anything else really, nothing too expensive.

That's how I felt because let me explain my situation. I'm 15 I get 15 dollars allowence a wwek and 25 dollars every 2 weeks for moweng my dads lawn. I have an AIPTEK 80 dollar piece of shit. So I'm just about as low at the bottom of the food chain as you get. But I really do love filming and plan on filming as along as I can. So everyone starts off somewhere, and you guys been more then helpful to me.

I hate all you lazy guys buying everything off the net.. go to the shop and see what the fuck your buying man.. damn. Inform urself via the net and via shops but dont just click BUY on shit u don't know.

Even tho it's your first cam I don't think you should get a second handed one. Cams mostly start to fuck up after 3/4 years so big chance you'll get all kinds of troubles right after you bought it.

So here's what to do if you want to film:
- New cam (300)
- Firewire card + cable (30)
- Raynox QC303 Semi Fisheye Lens (30)
- Some tapes (15)
- Guarentee for 5 years (70)

Total investment will cost you about 450.

Do what Kuffi said.

Not too sure about the cam, but the firewire card and actual wire is what you wan't, but I never needed to install a card, you should find out if it's the right one for your pc.......

It's not a matter of being lazy theres basically no eletronic stores by me. The nearest one is about 50 minutes away and since I still don't have a permit that's a bit of a problem.
