An X-ray image of with what looks like an alien's head inside a sick duck has been sold for $9,600.
Online casino GoldenPalace.com bought the bizarre image Sunday on eBay from the International Bird Rescue Research Center in Cordelia, Calif.
The adult male mallard seen in the X-ray was brought in to the center with what appeared to be a broken wing.
Assistant Marie Travers radiographed the mallard and was shocked to see what appeared to be the face or head of an extraterrestrial alien in the bird's stomach.
The bird died quickly, quietly and peacefully after the X-rays were taken, center spokeswoman Karen Benzel said.
"We immediately knew this was something we had never seen before in our 35-year history," Benzel said.
Proceeds from the sale will go toward aiding the nonprofit center.
Meanwhile, the casino can add the oddity to its collection of strange items featured in a traveling show.
GoldenPalace also reportedly paid $28,000 for a grilled cheese sandwich featuring an image of the Virgin Mary and $25,000 for a kidney stone passed by William Shatner.
