They are resonable priced and have words like sony and premium on the package. The place where I bought my cam said that if Id use TDK tapes or similar, they wouldnt give me warranty. They were joking ofcourse, but to emphasize the point that poor tapes ruin the camera heads.

And I always buy cheese.

As my current PSU is pretty much dying

I use them too, and the jvc ones, I'll use any really, always try to buy the cheapst so I can get more, but are normaly sony packs from ebay, iv never had a problem with a camera not recording or play tapes. I think its a myth.
