My camera doesn't do crap anymore. When I open the tape compartment nothing happens. When I turn my cam on.. nothing happens.
When I put it on the charger the LCD screen turns white but that's all..
Can anyone help?

Thats pretty solid advice. I did that to my iPod cause I got the idea from an episode of the flintstones and it works perfect now...

Actually, if you google for error code c31:23 for sony hand cams, the only advice you find is "slam it hard"

Ooh, could that be the problem?
I think the cam is worthless, would cost too much to repair etc. Just use it for a prop for a skit or prank.

My mate is getting a 3CCD this week!!!
and he used to have a HC40 so Im probably gonna buy his one, sell the cam (without battery's) for parts.
I'll see Webby, I'll first check if I can get some more money off it, I would have done it but shipping to the UK already costs a gayload.
