My Sony camera's cassette bay thingy wouldn't close, and it says on the top "Do Not Push Here" so I pushed it down while it was trying to take the tape in and close and it clicked and now it works fine, something might have come out of place.

N if u dont wanna try that for fear of making it worse then I dunno, take it to a sony technical place lol :-)

Error code c31:23 :

QUOTE
*

Error code is for supply reel malfunction. Most likely there is a break in
the LS flex circuit board traces or the supply reel sensor is defective or
maybe the magnet disc on the reel hub is loose.

I reccomend you take it to a repair shop, or see if your warantee covers it.

Probably, but it might be more expensive than buying a new camera.

Yeah. :(

Yup, my cam started to get that error message today too. Google it, there is lots of interesting read. It seems that if you whack your cam, it starts to work... I just removed my battery for few minutes and it started to work.

Good luck with it.

Eh, since we're on the topic of things being fucked up with our cameras, my Sony DCR-TRV289 Digital 8 Handycam's LCD screen started fucking up a few months ago. It got to where you could only see out of it when it was turned to a certain angle, and then it just stopped working altogether. I can still tape with it by looking through the viewfinder, but that's kind of a bitch because I'm used to using the flip out LCD. Has anyone else had this problem with their camera or does anyone here have any idea how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to butt in but its on the same topic,

My LCD screen has what looks like a dead pixel in the middle of it but its not actually there, its on the lens, if you watch my scene 1 on my site at http://www.moronicmayhem.com you can see it, its blue and always there, when I zoom in it gets bigger for some reason :-S
It must obviously be on the lens but I looked closely and can see no scratches and I wiped it many times. its confusing me.
