I had an idea, I dunno what everyone will think or if it will work out particulaly well, but I think we should set up a HG site ring. For those of you who dont know what it is, everyone involved would have a bar at the bottom of their page saying previous, random, home and next. previous and next link to the previous and next homegrown site, radom will link to a random hg site out of everyone involved and home would link to HGF. This would be beneficial to HGF as everyone would be linking to HGF from their site, and it will help the groups involved because it will spread traffic amongst alot of groups and open more people up to the homegrown world.

I know alot of people are on jackass-top 100 already, but most people here try to keep away from the idea we are all just rip offs of them. Plus jackass-top100 doesnt benfit HGF.

Just to give a better idea to people who are new to site rings, I've drawn a diagram. Nothing spectacular I know, but it will give you the basic idea.

Obviously the bar at the bottom would look nice, preferably made by one of the PS gods on here.

Also if someone knows how to set up the ring they will have to do it, because I have no clue how they are set up, just how they work.

Anyway guys, post what you think as to if it will be worth doing.

I have no idea how well it would work out, but I thought it was a pretty decent idea.

Thanks,

Edit: also I know most people link to each other anyway, but I just thought this was a fresh idea.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only difference between how things are now and your plan is that there's a little banner added for navigation.

I really hope I'm not coming across harshly, it's just that pretty much all the good homegrown sites link to all the others and HGF anyway. I don't really see any added benefits.

Nice diagram though. A for effort on that one haha.

Nah man, it's not harsh, your pretty much right.

As I said it was an idea that I thought may work, and I asked for the opinions, you gave yours :)

And thanks, my paint skills are top notch I know ;)

Yeah, I think how it works is the site urls and what not are stored on a server and someone in the know sorts out the html script and everyone plants the site ring on their site.

I may be wrong there though.

Webrings are quite old tbh. Banner rotations would be better methinks :)

I don't see anything bad with this idea, it will just help us get hits.
