Burning movies to dvd

Ok. I have Nero and I want to burn movies and stuff I've downloaded onto DVD's. When I try to import the avi's to put onto DVD it says it isn't the right format.

What the hell do I need to do?!?!??!

You need a program called WinAVI.

All you do is Import the AVI and it saves it as VOB files. Use Nero to load the VOB files and everything will work fine.

Noe. Converting to WMV would be bad since he wants full quality and not compressed when burning a DVD.

Sony DVD Architect will not burn as good as the WinAVI process.

I have DVD architect. Doesn't work well. I'm downloading that program. Thanks TOM.

But hey, you can split the avi's into two parts and burn them as a SVCD on a CD-R.

I used to do that for like 2 years all the time before I got my DVD Burner.

I've found that it's easier to take the video into a program like Sony Vegas, then render it as an MPEG II, then burn it to DVD with nero (if that's your only program). Sony DVD architect is a better program to use if your burning DVDs though.

I purchased my copy of Vegas and Architect, but I think you can download it from either LimeWire (www.limewire.com) or E-Mule (www.emule.com)
