It seems to be because HGF loads several javascript scripts in the background, the clicking is just a new item being loaded / executed...turn Windows sounds off it it bugs you :-P

I have no idea about the back button however, I think it's probably skin related. IPB is so large that it's kinda hard to track down a problem, so it may take some time.
