ok so normally when I turn my laptop on there is a disk checking stage at the start that I have always skiped since I've had the laptop, but the other day someone told me I should let it run through so I did and when it finishes the laptop turns off and then back on again and does the same whole thing again and again so I tyred skiping it like I normally do and then it freezes for a couple of secs then turns off and back on and then runs through the whole thing again :wacko2: so basicly I can't even get on the fucking thing

anyone got any ideas?

Try booting into safemode (F8 just before XP starts booting) and using system restore.

The reason it's doing it in the first place is cause your not shutting it down properly.

Or, it has been scheduled to scan every time it starts up.

I'm not sure what to do though, if you can't even get on.
Try turning it off completely, turn it on, skip it as normal and make sure you shut it down properly/have a look through see if you have scheduled it to run every time it starts up or something...

Hope that helped.

you could probably boot windows from the cd, and use repair if safemode doesn't work, or if you still can't go all the way through the scan. just a try.

safe mode works for a bit but then it freezes and restarts again
