So I've been purchasing a lot of domain names lately. I've bought some domain names that have famous people's names in them such as Martha Stewart. I bought MarthaStewartTube.com and some other website domain names as a courtesy to some high profile celebrities and companies that wouldn't want a youtube style website about ONLY them on the internet. So I saved these domain names a professional courtesy...
I just got billed $20 by an internet company that I work with for my domain names because they had to process some kind of legal complaint on the domain name, MarthaStewartTube.com
Now keep in mind this is a courtesy I've done for celebrities and companies, holding onto these domain names and spending a lot of money to do so.
Now Martha Stewart or her people, want to take up legal action. I'm sure this will get ironed out really quickly once they call me but we'll see. I thought this would give you guys a good laugh.
+ as you see I have the domain name directed to no website, so they can't claim damages or any losses or anything of the sort.
do you guys know any laws pertaining to domain names on the internet? such as this?
