HGF Freestyle 2006

FMS, Duran and a few other people think this would be an awesome and better idea other than the faceoff:

Basically, it's just a fre3style () mix tape.
All the groups who enter will work on their own freestyled video, working on camera angles, stunts, pranks, skits and any other creative shots which you guys can come up with....... and, anything else.


I know FMS, who suggested it too me likes it, and Duran.
So what are your opinions on this? ideas? do you guys like it? how would you like it too work?

I say the video should be judged by the content, the originality, creativity, editing and camering.
Since each group will specialize in one category, we need too make sure each group is judged upon their style of video.

This video can be skits, pranks, stunts, anything. Random footage, pictures or carp what ever.

This is a great idea because it can really show each groups style, get some prizes up in the bitch and everyone will be doing there best.

A bunch of brand new fresh mix ups is alot better than a bunch of played out tasks over and over.

Yeah, this way we won't be expecting anything too come, instead of groups being restricted they are thinking of new, more creative ideas and getting into the main aspect of HG; Filming, camering and editing.

Instead of just fiming yourself get fucked up from a stunt in a poorly lit area and the camera is all shaky, it give groups motive too film more creative shots, based on their style.

So, yeah, if we get a few more thumbs up we can have this going a.s.a.p.

The faceoff is a good idea as it gets people filming,but I think this is a much better idea,it may not produce as many videos but alot better videos

Tasks are way better.

Anyone can make a mixup about anything anytime. Faceoffs where people compete against a mixup of set tasks are rarer.

But, like most of the groups hardly ever think about the aspects of filming, the camera work and the editing... which like matches up with their style.

It all works out, maybe we can see some creative shit coming out, I mean it's completly freestlyed, there are no limitations this way, people can work more on their creative side, as the way you film... like angles and what not plays a big role in HG and can make a poo stunt look good.

What about a 50/50?

Some tasks, and some original videos in one great mixup?.

I'd say most people would prefer tasks, if we cut it down to several dozen great tasks that allow for improvisation and innovation then it'll be much better than a random mixup with no one knowing what they're doing.

But if most of the groups know nothing about "artisitic" filming then how the hell are they suppose to take this competition seriously?

Atleast post some criteria that tells entrants what aspects of filming, camera work and editing you're looking for.

Just stick to the original plan, it worked good as hell in the last faceoff and most groups produced amazing footage.

Naw man, thats weak, there are tons of those.

This way there can be pranks, skits, stunts, what ever people actually have to have talent as opposed to just reading a list of tasks and doing those, thats weak.

This isn't Kareoke it's Homegrown.

It's not like a group with a shitty mix-up will win, people will be making bad ass mix ups so they can win.

Too much praise on mixups goes towards how well one can edit. Tasks are better, seriously.

Like I said, anyone can make a mixup. How about we do this faceoff and after set a mixup competition?

Obviously the people of HGF prefer tasks.

I think this is a really cool idea, but I dont see the point in it being a substitute for the HGF Faceoff. If anything, it would be a good alternative...rather than a replacement.

Not doing the HGF Faceoff would limit the options of groups looking for a task oriented competition. The Hunt would be their only choice, and some people (who I love dearly) don't want to go down that road, seeing as Tom is too cheap to dish out the petty prizes that he promised.

Competitions suck without prizes..

Normally id rather see groups make an original video, but this is a face off to see who can make the best video from the same stunts. It defeats the point
