Does anyone have Google AdSense on their website and would be willing to let me know about their experiences with it? Is it worthwhile? I was thinking of getting this to our website because we're planning on selling out and making a buck or two to cover some costs :)

So any opinions on Google AdSense?

Apparently it's rubbish unless you get a LOT of traffic.

On average a few cents, CRT (Click Through Rates) are usually pretty low on sites such as yours (averaging 0.2 ish), which is okay on a high traffic site but will not work on a site with only a few thousand uniques a month.

I've been doing Adsense for 2 years now.

I used to make around £500 a month off a site which had like 100 hits a day...

Now I make about £70 a month from atleast 100 hits a day. Better than nothing though...

Google adsense is good for finding out what your viewers tend to look at right?

Give it a go. Can you get rid of it if it doesn't work out?

Be sure to read their TOS. You cant have any form of pornography or adult content anywhere on your site, nor can you provide links to such content.

AdSense can pay off if you have a fair amount of traffic and a high CTR rate.

my buddy uses google ads, I don't know what adsense is, but he owns wrestlingplanet.com and he makes $500 a month off of that site alone with google ads but he gets a TON of traffic because it's wrestling.

geez... if you guys only make that much, host a banner and button for me every month for $10 that promotes the HG dvd.

I thought I paid g-man for some homegrownforums advertising but I forget and I never saw it on the site, this was like over a month ago.

You didn't, you did ask though and I told you to talk to WEAK regarding advertising which you never did. If you're interested you can have one on the top of HGF for $10 a month, the rates gone up as our traffic's substantially increased.

It's a banner you put on your site that advertises different sites. People pay google for advertising and google pays other people for having the ads on their websites.

For example the "Adobe Photoshop Training" ad that's on BTD's site at the bottom of the page at the moment
