Being frozen in ice is biologically impossible. When a living organism is frozen the icicles that are caused by freezing are actually sharp and pierce, thus killing vital cells. Without or with degraded vital cells, such as haemaglobin, brain cells etc one cannot live.
Proving, if David Blane did pull that "stunt", it's a fake.
I've seen a tv program about hibernation. The idea was the same, to freeze the patient quickly and keep the body chilled for a hundred years or more, when there will be micro machines correcting the cells damaged by the freezing process. But keeping the whole body freezed costs a fortune, so the process was modified, so the patient's head is being cut off, and they freeze only the head, which will be reattached to a body some time in the future.
There was a teenager guy, who got very excited by the idea, even talked about it on the TV, that he wants to get this done to him. He approached his parents, who supported the idea.
I was quite shocked by this. Watching it realistically, he is being killed, beheaded, and even his parents supported it...
