For the last few weeks I have been searching for a new camera- I have approximately £1500. These are the following cameras I have had my eyes on, but obviously, this is alot of money to pay for a camera, so I don't want to make a wrong decision.

-Panasonic NV-GS500EG-S

-Sony DCR VX2100E

-Canon XM2

Help choosing which camera would be hugley appreciated, as I am not the most wise person when it comes to cameras. However, I am tempted to go for the Sony VX2100E, as it looks to be an amazing camera, and as I already have a sony camera, these would work hand in hand. Alternatively, if you have any other cameras that would be worth my while checking out, please tell me.

Again, any help from anyone even slightly knowledgable about cameras would be immensly appreciated. Thanks guys, I know I can trust you.

The VX2100 I guess if you can afford it, I hear it\'s awesome.

I have the XM2 and its a real nice camera though, Louzy has a Sony HC1 which is fucking awesome too.

There really should be an offical camera thread with a list of all the cams and a few reviews of them and stuff..there must be atleast 20 threads asking about cams..

But like mono said .. The VX if you can afford it.

The VX2100E, everyone rates it high.

But I dunno, why don't you go for a cam under £1000, then save the rest for whatever?
When you buy the VX2100E arn't you just paying for all those extra features? Unless your really looking into working with cameras and stuff for a job, I'd just go for a hi-quality cam under £1000, alls you really need is good video quality, audio shit, firewire support and all those little bits, but I can't really recommend any for you there.

Yer thanks, the price I have found it for on that website is just under £1500 so it would be perfect.

Again, thanks for the comments, I guess the sony is the favoured camera so far then.

Dude, the amazing thing is is that we are getting this for free- we are being funded this camera. It kicks ass, but I set the price boundary to £1500 so I wasn't taking the piss. I already have quit a nice sony handycam anyways, yet this should PWN major titties. But thanks for the advice.

Haha, its actrually not a company, but a random individual who thinks we have potential and would like to fund us money.

It's actually very likely to be a hoax, but either way, I've been saving up for a decent camera for a while now, so this thread will still be very useful to me.

Exactly my reaction. Which is why I haven't told you guys earlier, as I knew it would probably backfire and turn out he was a fake, yet I am fucking hyped about this if it is true, as he hasn't offered to get us just the camera, but anything we need, without taking the piss. Anyway, I hope this is for real.
